Question For You SEO Gurus

Ok so i have a blog with a vbulletin community behind. Everytime i make a blog post i want some bot to add the blog post to the forum.

Example:

BLOG POST:

I am white and got a black dick for christmas.

FORUM POST (would look like):

I am white and got [Click here to read the complete article]

Does this harm the SE´s or hurt my rankings? Is it good/bad from a SEO point of view? I have allready messaged pr0 about this but he seems to be spanking the monkey right now.
Lets see what you think..

Why would this hurt your rankings? It may even improve due to enhancing the link structure of your site and the way the PR is shared among pages. But I don't know everything about SEO so I may be wrong.

It will hurt you due to duplicate content.

Adjust your indexing methods to avoid that.

It won't be duplicate content if only a segment of the article is shown, plus you can even have those pages noindexed.

I think it would be ok if you dont do it with every single blog post, maybe could you set it up for every 3rd or 5th or 10th post but not for them all.

In my modest opinion, depends on which keywords are you ranking now and on which SE you are planning to rank. The way you are saying it, you are going to put a litle more balance in "I am white and got"...
anyway, also depends on how many times you repeat this...can or not harm your rankings.

cheers!

It's a weighting thing. If the snippet is no more than a dozen words, and the article at least a dozen sentences, you should be fine on duplicate content.

How could SEO have no future, unless Search Engines were to die?

Shoemoney's post is directed at certain (limited) aspects of SEO... I think it would be more accurate to say that SEO in it's current state has no future. That's the nature of the animal, though - it is constantly evolving, changing, drifting, twisting, turning... at no point in time will you ever be able to say "This is SEO, write it in stone and use it as a guide forever".

The current version and methods of SEO will never have a future... only the future methods will be relevant in the future, and only for a limited amount of time, until they too have no future. ()

On the other hand... it's possible that things will come full circle once in a while, and what was once relevant and successful will become so again.

I agree completely. SEO will always exist, just like anything its an ever-changing market.
