SE Hits
Curious... Since I suck at it, is there someone out there (like a company) who optimizes adult sites to get better rankings on Search Engines?

Which SE? I may be able to offer some Google assistance if your content is not in a category that competes with me.
Finding good SEO's that handle adult content is difficult in my experience. |

Learn it, do it yourself. It's the best really. Why, because any firm whose smart will work directly with the owners of the big companies who can afford to pay out much more than you can. It's tough finding SEO people that will work with small adult companies.

Most mainstream SEOs don't touch adult. At least the ones that do Google.
Speaking of Google, there is software out there that can help you build your link map and build link list feeder pages with targeted domain names. The clincher is knowing Google's ranking algorithm.......and according to the boards, that too is available. ![]()

![]() ![]() Normally, I would post this info but since competition is superfucked as it is already, I'll take the [Labret] stand on this issue and urge you to figure it out. ![]()

You don't need any software, you simply need a firm understanding of how Google operates.

Assuming someone as lazy as I am decided he wanted to start taking SE traffic a little more seriously (and get out of TGP hell) to gain a better understanding of how they (Google) operate, how would you recommend I go about doing it? Trial and error? A good book? Some software such as WebPosition? Keep bothering people like you until they spill the beans? BTW, I'm looking to get more involved with AVS and am working on some sites now. Right now I'm in various teen niches and will break off to other niches once I figure out what works. Since I'm a little rusty in the AVS market it may take some time before I figure out which niches work best and what content I'll be pushing. I'm sure I'm no threat to your SE traffic. Thanks for your help. |

Google is a moving target as of late. The key strategy 2 months ago, page rank, has been demphasized. There are probably 100 elements that go into the Google algorithm, but a few weigh much heavier than others of course. The resource that Wired2000 recommended is a good start.
As far as applications are concerned, I tend to avoid them. Unless you are concerned about the myriad of second and third string SE's, I wouldn't spend any time focusing on them. The major engines need to "find" you, manually submitting will get you nowhere. The easiest way to be found and a good source of page rank is DMOZ. Getting a free adult site listed in DMOZ isn't exactly a piece of cake, but it can be worth the effort if you are successful. It's easy to get discouraged with SE work, as the results are not immediately tangible. If you are just starting out, it may be several months before you begin to see any results. Send me one of your sites via ICQ and I'll check it out. 168455758 |
