Flash supports DRM, H.264, is cross platform and provides a much better playback experience. What's with all the Windows only VOD sites? I've heard stats that Mac represents 30% of the market share and rising. 30% seems like a pretty large chunk of your customers to tell them they can't buy from you.

Most video places barelly have what they got done standardised in WMV.

Not mention there will be reluctance in Using flash. It has to prove itself security wise. I am sure it will pass security wise but that remains to be seen.

You plop down over 100K to a full library redone in Flash...

Mac isn't even 10% of the market. Unless nearly 100% of epoel buyingcomputer over the alst 3 years bought mac there is no way they could be 30% of the market. Fuck macs. If they want porn get a PC. It just works.

here's tip about flash. download real payer 11 it plays flash movies. There's Mac version. NOT sure about the Mac version but with the PC version you can actually download flash files to your computer pretty easily. And not just flash vids on tube sites. I was quite amazed when I used a 30 minute free trial to a VOD site and when watching the Real Player version of their movies and could record the movies for later playback.

Videobox has done very well with flash. Their playback experience is better than having the file locally I think. Yeah, the DRM and H.264 are very recent.

And yes, 28% of our traffic is Macs. So, 20% is actually a pretty fair estimate.

The question shouldn't be how many households but - how many active people online. The percentage of PC owners that don't or can't come online is far greater than Mac users.

Mac's also out last PC's, by years... And yet Best Buy and several other stores have reported at least 20% of the sales are going to Mac's now, in 07 and that trend is growing in 08.

Mac is a huge growing marketing - with lots and lots of money..
