My girl insisted on bringing one of her cats, Traitor, to our new place that we just moved in to. He is just one of a few cats she has that was over at her Mom's house.

I don't dislike cats. I grew up having a cat in the family, but this kitty can be a little overbearing. The first night he was here, a little over a week ago, he was all over the place. I mean he was on my keyboard, on the counter (where food is prepared!), and in our bed. I really didn't want him in bed with us. He is only a year and a half old, but he's a big cat, and when he steps on your balls when you're sleeping - you know it.

He's calmed down a little since he's been here, be he just seems to be everywhere I don't want him to be. My girlfriend would be crushed if I made her get rid of him.

What should I do?

Definitely the way to go. We have 3 cats and the only way we've managed to keep them behaved is with a little water discipline.

It may take a bit of persistance but it will pay off. Better check with the GF before spraying them in the bedroom though. I don't like our cats in bed with us but there are some people who won't sleep without them.

Already got one - I need a holster on my belt for it and I'll be happy.

The one bad thing is that it takes a good two pumps before the spray of water comes out - and by that time the cat has fled the crime scene.
