Bowling for Columbine
Has anyone seen Michael Moore's new film "Bowling for Columbine" yet?
If so, what did you think of it? I used to watch his TV show "The Awful Truth" every week and I like his style. |

Hopefully I'm seeing it on Friday, I'll let you know.
Everyone says it's great. Moore is a member of the NRA and a longtime gun owner himself - it should be interesting. |

I wonder if you got ammo as well. Just think you could open up your new account and then go on a homicidal rampage to celebrate. |

The same people who say they hate "political correctness" usually hate Michael Moore because he isn't politically correct by their standards. He also pisses off a lot of people on the left because he's loud and obnoxious with an ego, and he's got some money, but tough shit. I still laugh. |

I saw it yesterday, the crowd in Irvine (Cali) was cheering and applauding through the whole thing, was a pretty good environment to see it in.
I think my feelings about the movie are pretty much summed up in this review by the NY Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2002/10/11/movies/11BOWL.html Some parts were over the top, and the issue was simply too huge to address in even a 2 hour movie, but overall it was a very eye-opening film. Roger & Me and The Big One I felt were both pretty much on target. This movie is really excessive in a couple spots, uncomfortably so, but extremely interesting. Bring back TV Nation to the networks! His next film should be great. C. |

I really want to see this movie as well.
Funny though, how nobody in the USA would finance it. Salter Street to the rescue on a film that *had* to be made.

The guy's not trying to make fun of the kid...he likes to get in the faces of those he feels needs it. I remember when he took a truck with huge speakers and at like 7 am in the morning blasted muzak in front of the guy's house who created muzak. He also challenged the CEO of GE to come out and change a light bulb...he did get the CEO of Ford Motors to come out and change the oil in a pickup. The guy's intelligent...witty...and a thorn in the side of corporate america. I can't wait to see this film. |
