How would YOU take on this task?
What would be your primary focus to achieve this?

Take this as a motivational idea and sounding board. We all want traffic, there's plenty to be had for everyone who is motivated enough to do the work required to obtain it.

For those of you who understand this, what would YOU do?

If you don't have an idea, brainstorm for a while and post about it. What could it hurt?

I'll start:
Build 3 sites that get 1,000,000 UPD.
OR
Build 10 sites that get 300,000 UPD.

and so on. Simple breakdowns is probably the first step, focusing on the areas that you're good at, hubbing out your centralized network with a core group of parent sites.

Realistic Goal: 1,000,000 Uniques/Daily
Method: Small sites across large network
Network: 200 sites getting 5,000 uniques/daily

That's 1 million uniques daily.

Next...

I would sell off the lesser then 5,000 sites (some of those 200 sites are going to fail). While managing the traffic on the other sites (increasing from 5,000 to 8,000).

And so on... until I had a network of about 75 sites generating 1.5-2.5 million daily uniques.

if you decide to go the other route - gazzilion site etc than you have to calculate how many uniques you need a site to get to break even or make a small profit, I'd say at least 100 uniques a day

100*365 (day in a year) = 36 500 to your site, you make sure you get 10% CTR*
that gives you 3650 uniques to the sponsor, that'd give you 1 (ONE) signup (ratios will keep getting worse) at say $30

$30 - ($10 (domain) + $5(hosting + whoisguard+other exp.)) = $15 profit for the year PER SITE

where to get soooooooo much content to populate your sites? spend a few days and get all the FHGs with thumbs and at least 2 (different lenght) descriptions

create a long motherfucking list of sinonimous(sp) words you are going to replace

now replace them (be careful how you do that) - now you have somehow unique content for your sites, lets say they are all blogs, a blog post would be:
short description - title
url, thumb, long description - the body post

inserting all these posts to the blogs would take you 372 years if you do it via Wordpress or other platform, ask a programmer to create you the databases instead and schedule your posts (scheduled at somehow random intervals and posted at different hours of the day), import the databases

linking - get at least 200 IPs, then you can link b/n your sites just never close the circle there, then crete a few (100?) sites on different free adult hosts, that'd give you more IPs where you can link from, again link building should automated and done in a "normal" way - if your site gets 5 back links every single day Google might not like (or so people say) so it should get say 3 links today, 7 on Thu, 1 on Fri etc

This "motivational" bullcrap always cracks me up.

A dude with no clue sits down and goes... well, I'd like a million dollars. I bet if I could really apply myself, I could make a million dollars. For instance, a year has 365 days and those days 24 hours each so really, it's just 1k and change an hour I really need.

Or I could make 2 projects that each do 500 bucks an hour. Or maybe 50 projects that each cash a 20 every hour. Now that seems a lot more doable.

What a load. It's not more doable than it was to begin with, nor has all this "planning" actually done anything of any value whatsoever.

I would prolly just build 60 50k TGP's or even easier CJ's and get a tow or three guys to maintain them.

That is the absolute easiest way to 3 million hits a day.

That beeing said I would prefer a 100k/day SE traffic network and that is what I am trying to archive. I am long from the goal hehe

You calculate, plan and execute.

Of course its _more_ doable when you break it down. You know how big one brand would have to be to achieve large numbers. Where as smaller ventures with constant returns and room for growth can get the same number with less effort.

Rent out a house for $100,000/mo or rent out 20 properties for $3500/mo.. hmm which seems MORE doable?

Sorry, but you're entirely wrong.

When talking about websites, creating something that gets millions of hits a day is extremely hard, and typically requires a significant amount of luck.

On the other hand, creating a large amount of automated small sites isn't all that hard, and requires very little luck - just a lot of work. Eventually, you will find some things which work well, and you can just increase the scale when you do.

Here's how to get rich online:
1. Find something that works well.
2. Scale the fuck out of it.

If you're determined and not a complete idiot, you can do it.
