They aren't actually bad at all, assuming you buy at a place where bartenders know what they are doing... If you get it at some $1/drink dive, it will indeed probably taste like shit...

When I owned my bar I hated people who ordered Mojito's. They are pain in the ass to make for the bar staff, they make a mess, and 99 % of the people who ordered them were prentinous pricks trying to be cool

I put a Mango Mojito on my drink menu, just to see what type of awful people would order it. This drink was horrible! I would rather drink warm Barton's gin than it, and yet people ordered it to look cool.

Well all I can say is that most of the time they taste really good in cuba.

Lived in Cuba for 5 years... we all drank Bacardi Lemone and ting (like a Jamaican style Squirt)

i just think its not your taste, if you tried almost 50 and you didnt like 1 of em that says enough.... personally i like mojitos. Its fresh with alcohol, what more do you want ;)
i drink alot of stuff on a night mojito is like gum to make the drinks and smokes breath go away a bit... but it's gum in a glass, with alcohol!

Dont drink them from the plastic bucket / premade at the bar in Miami by the pool.

Ill be at the end of the bar pounding them down. Introduce yourself and Ill change your mind.

Swap out your Mojito for a Hurricane. Yeah they are a bit different, taste is pretty close to the same, but the Hurricane is way stronger and not as sweet. In my eyes, a better mixture of everything and they trash you faster.

Seriously though, most people I know love mojitos. We're in Miami, so its custom to order mojitos or coke and rums. Dont really think it has anything to do with being cool imo.
