I don't always agree with his reviews, but I can usually gauge how much I will like or dislike a movie based on his reviews and his normal critiques compared to mine...

for example, if he calls a horror movie mean-spirited and no fun, I'll probably enjoy it

A legend of its own, you always need to compare though, there are mainly critics that are good in their own genre, there is a very few good universal critics..

Meaning you can hardly find anyone who has a huge picture of Bergman above the bed and wears a massive sweather and a massive beard beeing qualified to judge "The Return of the living dead"..
