upgrade to 2.3.3 asap, theres major security flaws fixed... me personally, have 2.5 RC2 and it works like a charm... id recommend until 2.5 is released to move to it though unless you really know what youŕe doing.

lmk if you need help with anything

hi

thanks for the reply. i did upgrade to 2.3 when it first came out, but because it was a completly new version, it messed up something on the first blog i tried the update (because of a plugin or the template i used can't remember what) but if that's the case it looks like i'll have to do it.

thanks again

nothing online is really secure.

what are you really worried about? comment spam? seriously, no-one really gives a toss about your little blogs, let alone the hackers.

If you have anything worth seriously worrying about, you wouldn't be putting it out there on a free blogging platform based on PHP.

are you really that clueless? there's lots to be worried about if using outdated scripts, if no one "gave a toss about my little blogs" they wouldn't bring out security updates would they? so you don't bother installing security updates for apache/php/mysql either then?

i no nothing online is secure. i'm not worried about comment spam, but i try to prevent script kiddies messing with my servers if at all possible. you've only got to look at a sites 404's to see all the different scripts with security flaws that they are searching for constantly.

Uhh, people are looking for scripts with holes in them all the time.

I'd imagine he's afraid of having his server compromised and maybe having all his shit deleted or worse, and then losing his income.
