What does this post have to do with my response to Sherm? BTW...the insurgents for the most part have been minority Sunnites and foreign fighters. The Sunnites for the most part were members of the Baathist Party which controlled Iraq. They have been fighting in an effort to regain power over Iraq and the Shias. Foreign fighters fight because they do not like Western countries...which includes Canada...but specifically the USA. Of course there are some fighters that fight because their families were killed by the coalition forces...but in the past couple of years or so there has been more Iraqis killed by Iraqis and foreign fighters than by Coalition forces.
