Anyone have their own espresso machine?

I am sick of having to go drive to buy an espresso or cappuccino and figured I would buy one and start trying to make my own. Can anyone here recommend a good cheaper model for me to start out with? I would hate to spend a bunch of money on one and then it ends up just sitting on my kitchen counter.

Also any tips or tricks? I know good weekly cleanings is a must.

Any department store sells espresso/capuccino machines.
The low end ones do the trick just fine. Good luck.

I saw that target has one for 40 bucks but since I dont know much about making espresso I figured maybe there are some important features that are stripped off.

Not really. There are very expensive espresso makers out there, but I'm not sure they're worth it unless they are for commercial use. Just my

We have one from http://capresso.com that works great. They have them from the basic manual ones at $59 up to the fully auto grind brew the shots for over $3k.

That's like drinking Sanka compared to grinding your own.

I should write a tutorial.

Quick and easy. No where near the same quality that I make myself. I can assure you that if you tried mine you would notice the difference.

Ive had one well the previous model

Its great, easy no mess tons of choices of coffee and good quality, if youre looking for something in the cheaper range this is a good machine

Mind you the capsules arent cheap and you have to buy them, theres no way refilling old ones or so.

They do have a downside

- alu boiler (if theres a lotta calcium in your water itll break down)
- no power on the steam models
- rubber seals are so so
- small compartment for storing empty capsules

and: if you recalc what coffee costs and youre drinkig lots of it - get one that doesnt have the ECE or capsules

its not bad

but you cannot compare a $300 machine with pre-grinded coffee with a 2k machine own grinder and above all GOOD coffee

oh yeah - I had one that exploded since I didnt do that every day, alu boiler and the steam couldnt escape bye bye $500 machine

the better ones have an escape valve or a part that comes off to prevent it from exploding

Noooope! I am more partial to the french press with a extra bold french roast.

That's ""freedom"" press & roast, to most of you.

Sure, if you want to go all out go for it but saying nespresso is like sanka to your fresh ground coffee is where I was referring to you being wrong.
