				 | I just watched the whole anouncement by Steve Jobs and others last night, thing is over an hour long and very interesting. It's linked from the first article, but in case any of you are too lazy... http://events.apple.com.edgesuite.ne...rnal=fj2l3s9dm Apple 2.0 is going to be absolutely massive, and most likely kill the blackberry The other phone manufacturers must be shitting themselves |

				 | I just did a report about the cellphone industry and its amazing how people think apple is such a force in this arena. They have a buzz yes, but their marketshare in small. Nokia is still king! |

				 | I don't see the iPhone killing the Blackberry for several reasons. 1) Blackberry is a more recognizable and trusted name than Apple in the phone arena. 2) They are only on one carrier and only in the US. Cellphone integration is far greater in Europe than in North America and the you have Asia. 3) Most people have little interest in trying to "hack" the iPhone. 4) Not enough people browse the internet on their phones yet to make them want to make the switch. The industry will have to earn customer trust and ensure that it is safe before lots of people start browsing the web from their phones. 5) Look at market share. Apple is so small it is surprising that people are even talking about them. Does anyone know HTC? That's what I thought. 6) Their lineup of phones includes 1 phone. Blackberry on the other hand will probably release a few more models before Apple gets to their second generation model. This is just my opinion, but I think most will agree with these points. I'm not saying the product is bad, they just can't get them into enough hands right now to really make it something worth talking about. Apple does a great job of marketing their products and convincing the public that they are the best and that everyone has one by doing great product placements in the media (TV, Movies, and print ad). But the fact remains that the vast majority of people do not use Apple products beyond the iPod (which is the anomaly because it is still the best out there). Apple has come a long way, but it will take them another couple of years and a more diverse product line to really make a push into the upper echelons of the top electronics manufacturers.

				 | I got to play with my buddy's Iphone this past weekend. Loved it, and I own a Curve. But there is one thing that will kill any type of IPhone supremacy. BATTERY LIFE.

				 | I agree with most of these statements, it may be sometime before Apple kills RIM(blackberry). However, you cant base this argument on market share. Apple has been the master of low market share, high return products since it has begun. The Mac has very small market share, so small in fact that if most companies had that kind of market share they would no be able to survive. My opinion, Apple will continue to be a presence in the cell phone market, but they will not be able to deliver a knock out punch to any major company. Will they continue to innovate and push cellphone technology? Of course, that is what they do best. Sinclair

				 | they had major success with the ipod, in the us they led the market and they only entered after there were already mp3 players in the market, so they were not the first, but they made the product into something everyone had to have.. and something anyone could figure out how to use, not just a computer gadget... |

				 | i just can't envision business people giving up their BB's for iphone... It's just not gonna happen. Iphone may become the leading smartphone/cellphone in the general public in terms of a toy, but will not replace BB for business people simply because BB is aimed towards that clientele and not the average teenager mobile surfer |

My battery was not lasting as long as it used to so I walked into the apple store, handed it to them, they handed me a new one and I was out the door in 5-10 minutes with a brand new one. battery life doesn't seem to be an issue.

				 | The iPhone is awsome! Once you get used to it you cannot let it go. The batttery life on the phone Sucks, and it causes me to be constantly chargeing it. Chargeing the phone has become one of my biggest worries, but all you need is a USB port on your laptop or computer to charge the phone.

				 | I don't get why there is anything revolutionary about it at all. You've been able to run tons of windows apps on Windows Mobile PDAs forever. And BB's are in a class of their own. I don't see them going anywhere any time soon.
