What is best Canadian Creditcard for rewards

I am in process of getting another creditcard Visa ,
what is the best one for travel rewards ? I travel like 50x's
a year so i need the best there is .
So far there is RBC Avion , CIBC Aeroplan ....
IF you use either of them what is the benefits
What else and why

I gathered all this info from the Flyertalk forums, apparently at the end of the month, RBC is rolling out the most prestigious credit card in Canada, since there's no Canadian Amex Centurion, called the RBC Visa Infinite, which will be catered mainly towards the RBC private banking clients, but apparently RBC VIP clients can also *try* getting it by speaking to the senior account manager. There will not be an advertising campaign for the card, either.

"Cost is $399 per year for Private Banking clients, $599 for non-Private Banking clients.

* RBC Rewards redemption rate of 2% instead of 1% for all travel rewards, all flight classes, no blackout periods or seat restrictions
* Visa Infinite concierge service (don't know if third-party company)
* Complimentary Priority Pass membership (the $99 annual fee version)

I have a standard platinium, gives me about 1.42% to buy flights. So if you use your card for 10k, you get 142$ for flights(can buy them anywhere, online if you wish).

I must say I'm not sure if it's the best since I didn't shop much for it.

I have the platinum avion with RBC and I like it, for every $15k spent on it you can cash out and get a round trip flight to any state or province joined by the border to the state or province you live in. This is beneficial if you live in a province or state thats connected to a big state, for example I live in Ontario and New York is connected, so I can fly to NY city for a weekend trip if I like which is nice...but if you lived in NewFoundLand this would suck ass since no one wants to fly to Quebec...

I mean fees on top of the tickets, you know when you book airfares there's always some hidden fees that you need to pay at the end.

Might consider it for a secondary card.

AMEX is great to use, as you can transfer your points to Aeroplan easily. However, not everyone accepts AMEX, so I would also suggest using CIBC Aeroplan VISA.

I have those 2 as well, The Platinum Amex aeroplan also gives you access to the air canada lounges, whether you have status or not. I prefer the Amex, because it forces me to settle in 30 days and not carry a balance

If you push a lot of business expenses through the card it can pay off... When I had a dayjob the director of IT put over $100k/yr worth of server purchases on his own personal card and expensed the company, while enjoying a ton of rewards.

Based on that, what lender/card, other than American Express, will allow you to borrow money @ 0% ?

For more or less all cards; at the end of the billing cycle/period/term, your balance is still multiplied by your 'x'. It all depends on your type (daily, adjusted, previous etc).

If that were true (pay off balance and interest does not matter), exactly what would be in it for the lender? The meager fee they gather per transaction?

As for reaping from using your credit card for expenses: how do you claim that each year?

Politicians get in trouble and lose their jobs for that practice each and every year. Unless stated in your contract, is that not against your business ethics?

TD canada Trust has one of those, I think its called a price waterhouse card or something, BUT its not really a credit card, now that I think about it, you have to load it with us funds.

when u spend 5-6figures on a regular monthly basis , the
"free" cards are useless they don't give you much as for
point systems . You are better off spending 2-300 bucks
for annual fee and get a card that gives you good benefits
like free trips and business class seatings . If you do the math
it does workout better especially if you travel ALOT

right now it gives you points for travel and bunch of places
for gift cards . Which is "ok" I got some free trips out of it already
but I know i can get alot more if I upgrade to better card .
However , there are not many choices
for CND issued banks with USD Visa . Like someone said on
this thread AMEX doesn't offer USD cards for CND clients

If you're open to Mastercard instead of Visa, www.bmocorpmc.com might be worth investigating. They have 1% cash back corporate cards, for both US and Canadian dollar Mastercards.

I'm thinking about getting an RBC Reward USD Gold Visa under my company name too. I have a personal USD Visa with CIBC right now and it has almost no benefits at all.

Yup, I'm in the same boat. I have a ton of USD Visa Gold points. I'd switch to Amex in a second if I could get a USD currency card issued in Canada.

Those points are subject to taxation if they're business expenses and he's using the rewards for personal gain.

in my audit, that was one of the first things they checked.
