My bank (Canadian) closed my account cause I was making too much money (part2)

Yes you heard me. My account was flagged for making too much money.
Anyone know of a decent canadian bank I can deal with?

The bank is not one of the major ones (CIBC, TD, Royal, Scotia, BMO, HSBC..) but it is still a large and significant one. I dont want to give any names because at this stage Im a bit paranoid.

It turns out they want to close my account because I am receiving wires from offshore companies. As you know a lot of companies are situated in Europe (such as Cyprus, British Virgin Islands, etc) and because I receive a lot of money from these companies they have flagged my account as suspicious and dont want to deal with me for reasons related to money laundering, terrorism, who knows.

So I was hoping someone can suggest a good bank I can deal with. Ones with good investment options, good customer service, and not a total ripoff. Any ideas?

I should note I had a business account with my bank

Why not just bump your old thread and tell us who your bank is? We've basically lost interest in giving you more suggestions.

RBC through Moneris does card processing for adult, so they should be solid. I deal with CIBC and have never had any issues.

Because that thread does not note that Im receiving wires from offshore companies, nor explain the problem in detail, and people on gfy dont read replies to a thread

you answered your own question in the original thread. Use a large national bank and you won't have problems.

If you want a specific recommendation, then I will say BMO.

You don't need to open a company there just to have a bank account surely?

you can hold private accounts in switzerland. swiss banking is actually a hell of a lot more about appeal that it is about practicality, btw.

We had the same problem with the Royal - about 7 years ago now, although I think our personal banker didn't like us much and caused a number of the problems for us.

We then went bank shopping - telling them a number of details about our business the adult nature etc. and all of them we're willing and happy to take us on. We picked the one we liked the best and haven't looked back since

The reason you're been told by the bank likely isn't the whole story ... perhaps they just don't like your type of business, maybe someone complained, you received tainted (ie. stolen) funds, etc.

Knowing the bank name would help people give you a better answer - and quite honestly, if you're no longer their customer, who cares ... mention the bank's name.

Ron

We don't need to know the bank name.

Just go into the majors and sit down and talk to them. They will all want your business.

TD is open longer, but I've had problems
Scotia is good to me
CIBC...my friends have had problems
RBC...Girlfriend and her family bank there and they like it.

Should be enough info to get you out the door and into one of these places.

I love TD bank, they have been great to me I also use PC financial they can be a hassle.

but I make small deposits at my banks, and I cash more of what I earn from money mart. I can't see myself cashing a check more then 3 grand but who knows.
