Sales down - Who is to blame? - GoFuckYourself.com

During the last 10 years there have been been a lot pointing fingers as to who is to blame for sales going down, one thing to ask yourself, are they really going down or is the convertion just getting worse due to more users getting online?
10 years ago, everything converted. I used to send exit traffic to join pages and converted less than 1:2000
8 years ago, CJ sites got the blame, they mislead the users and didnt give away content.
6 years ago, TGP sites got the blamde, they gave away too much content.
2-3 years ago a mix of torrent sites and adware got the blame
now and the last months Tube sites got the blame for it.

Point is, there have always been free content around, the amount of free content pretty much match download speeds available, stolen content have always existed, it seems to be massive at the moment though. TGP's started with stolen content too for thouse that remember the start of thehun where he linked directly to picture folders of content areas.

The traffic and the sales will always follow the creative people, people that come up with new ideas that get the attention, even something as stupid as a website made out of 1 million pixels, where everything is advertisement.
Point is not that you cannot sell anything to experienced users that can find it all for free, because you can, you just have to work a bit harder, giving the user value he need so he will pay for it, general users have no idea that a tube site is primary made out of illegal content. Same time most webmasters think tube sites is illegal

With that said, I still do not believe sales is down, sales is up, traffic volumes is higher so convertions is worse than what they used to be, and customers is more picky in what they want. Not to mention during the last 10 years basically "many new countries" got connected to the internet, they want to feel local where they buy their shit.
