Worse than some, not as bad as others. MDMA can fuck with your body's natural ability to produce serotonin. I've noticed that people who take it regularly seem to get a deep hallowed-eye look, and - after awhile - don't really seem to feel emotion unless they're rolling (think 6 pills a night, 2-3 nights a week for a few months). Seems to correct after awhile, but I've heard it can permanently fuck with your biochemistry if you take too much of it.

Not to mention, people cut the shit out of pills, so who knows what you're really getting... the days of the pure Dove are long gone.

I imagine anything in moderation's probably safe, though.

i think ecstasy is one of the most underrated drugs around when it comes to the dangers of it's use. i've done alot of it, and been around alot of it, and i can tell you straight out, just because it's lovey dovey shit, does not make it all that innocent. it is dirty fucking shit that for the most part is a chemical cocktail of all sorts of random shit whipped up in some motherfucker''s bathtub. you never know what you're putting in your body and it can and will harm you in the long run if you keep doing it. i can't fucking stand people trying to pass ecstasy off as something that's "mostly" harmless...

GOOD ecstacy is not bad.

Like most drugs, the purer and more well made, the less harmful side effects.

People have died, lots of them too, but moreso from benders, too much or bad drugs.

I also say that good drugs with good friends and a good attitude makes for a load of fun and good times.

Change 1 of the 3 and things can go awry.

And everything in moderation, including moderation.

also ecstasy makes you act like a total fucking jackass. i loved it too, until i finally went to a rave sober and saw everybody all fucked up through sober eyes and realized that was what i acted like on ecstasy. after a couple months of routinely bumping into my friends all rolled up and trying to hold conversations the deal was sealed. no more tard candy for me...

Real deaths from ecstasy are exceptionally rare. You have a better chance of dying in a plane crash than dying from ingesting an ecstasy pill.

Most deaths are 'ecstasy related' and are in fact mostly water intoxication.

My homie in highschool died from an ecstacy overdose which resulted in me not trying it until years later. It was an awesome experience to say the least. Gotta make sure you are rollin with some ladies though.

DO PEOPLE OVERDOSE OFF OF ECSTASY AT RAVES ALL THE TIME? No. A majority of media reports about MDMA-related deaths at raves are misreported as overdoses. Here are some of the factors that can lead to the misinterpretation:

* MDMA is a stimulant-based drug.
* Stimulants naturally increase body temperature, sometimes to dangerous levels with higher doses.
* A majority of death victims from raves have fatally high body temperatures when found or pronounced dead.
* These victims are also usually found with some MDMA in their systems.

Because of all this, it is assumed that the overheating in such deaths is caused directly by MDMA toxicity in the user's system, the same way victims die with fatally high body temperatures from PMA or methamphetamine overdoses. But for a user to die directly of an ecstasy overdose, their body would have to be intoxicated with the equivalent of probably a few dozen or more pure MDMA pills, far more than the average dosage taken for a recreational experience. Recent research has also proven that for rats, MDMA does not necessarily increase body temperature. Rather, it reduces the body's ability to regulate its own temperature, making the rats more sensitive to their environment. If these findings are applicable to humans, then in an excessively cool environment for example, an MDMA user?s body temperature can drop to dangerous levels, possibly leading to hypothermia.
But in a hot environment such as a crowded rave, someone on ecstasy is under increased risk of overheating. Other factors such as poor ventilation inside the rave, ongoing physical exertion such as dancing all night, and not drinking enough water will furthermore increase these risks. Thus, the majority of ecstasy-related deaths from raves misreported as overdoses have actually been caused by a combination of hot environments, inadequate replenishment of bodily fluids, and the use of as little as one pill of MDMA. There are few documented cases of MDMA users dying with fatally high body temperatures after taking the drug in a cool, temperate environment. Probably, these deaths were the result of serotonin syndrome, a rare possibly genetically-based condition induced by serotonin-releasing drugs.

whatever....I have been involved deeply in the rave scene since I was 17 years old, and I am 32 now...out of the thousands of raves I have been to and the hundreds of thousands of ravers/people I have known, I have only known about 2-3 deaths that DIRECTLY came from going to raves or were because of the rave culture....and only one of those was actually at a rave, and it was because she od'd on heroin

if you watch the tv and pay attention to the news, you will get a VERY distorted view of raves and the rave culture, but in fact the rave culture are some of the most educated people on drugs....

I see more harm and recklessness in dance clubs these days then I do at raves

Its been almost 15 years since I dropped my first hit of E. Did it quite a bit back then and I will probably never do it again. It drains the life out of people. I have seen its destruction first hand. Causes anxiety and insomnia, depression and anger problems. I guess it would be "safe" if you did 1-2 pills every few months but doing it on a regular basis is not very smart.
