That's good money, no doubt, but not exactly jaw-dropping impressive... in this industry alone there are probably at least 100 people that pull that in each year...

Everybody claiming 500k/year is chump change never really had to work for his money or earns like 200$ a month and needs to boost his ego.

Great stats Senator !

Why don't you start your own thread and ask that since this has absolutely nothing to do with dp?

Let's all set the record straight here. I mean if we are all going to comment and talk trash about something that someone supposedly said then let us at least be aware of what was or wasn't really said.

Mike of Vivid Cash never said it was "chump change". The other guy who started this tread used those words.

Mike said what this person was claiming on TV wasn't impressive and that included the fact that he claims to have made $500,000 in 6 months. Of course the guy claimed a lot of things in the course of his interview on ABC, but none of those claims were all that impressive either.

Is making $500,000 in 6 months, or even in 1 year, impressive? Perhaps to some but that wasn't the topic of the conversation. For some reason this Bad dog guy jumped on that one line and just obsessed about it over and over.

By the passion and vigor in which this guy posted over and over and over again about this one subject, it seems like this guy has a hard one for Mike over at Vivid Cash but no matter what he couldn't stay focused on the subject at hand but instead kept obsessing about one line, which wasn't really that relevant to the entire conversation in the first place.

And for the record, making $500,000 a year isn't impressive to everyone. To me, I would be impressed if you say you leaped tall buildings in a single bound or you from one end of the earth to the other totally buck naked. But telling me you made $500,000 doesn't mean crap to me. I'm not impressed by such things. So who cares if some other guy (in this case Mike of Vivid Cash) isn't impressed by such things either? Does that some how make him an ass or a bad guy? No. It just means he isn't impressed by some guy who CLAIMS to have made $500,000 on TV.

this reminded me of a story about kerry packer, at the time australias richest man:

(copy and pasted)

Packer got into an altercation with a loud-mouthed Texan at a blackjack table in Vegas.

The story goes that the brash cowboy yelled at Packer "Don't you know who I am boy? I'm worth $60 million pardner!" The big Australian simply turned and replied "$60 Million? Toss you for it?"

Packer also reportedly took his losses on the chin and was also generous when sharing his good fortune. He once casually asked a waitress how big her mortgage was and then without another word left her a tip for the exact amount she owed.

Definitely one of my favourite stories about Packer. He seemed to know how to put people in their place.

:thumbsup :thumbsup

... and that why as a business owner You don't "take home" as much as $500k/year, unless things are going *REALLY*, super-extraordinary well.
Well, another reason of course could be You have... well, let's just call it "bad business sense".
