How many of you realize that Bill Gates is nowhere near the richest man?

Do you buy into the idea that Bill Gates is the single richest person on this planet?

Bill Gates is somewhere around 40+ billion. Telecom mogul Carlos Slim in Mexico is worth about $70 billion. Larry Elison has even been "on top" a few times depending on where Oracle stock is at any given time.

Yet, I know first hand (actually second hand) of somone who CLEARS 10 billion a year. Obviously I am not going to be naming names because this person does not want you to know he makes this much. His daughter let it slip to one of my friends who used to be in a long term relationship with her. My friend is not someone who would just make up a story and he was even a bit nervous giving me this info.

Now, we all know that being worth $70 billion and CLEARING $10 billion a year are 2 different leagues. If you have been clearing $10 billion a year much of your life then it would be logical to put that person's wealth at $100 billion + and perhaps an easy $200 billion or more.

So If I know of someone who clears that much, imagine how much some other people make. 20 billion a year, 40 billion a year?

Or do you think I am nuts?

Discuss......

considering how much Bill Gates gives to charity, it is impressive he still remains one of the richest.

If your friend actually MADE $10 B's he would be in Forbes as the richest. Tax documents are public information. That is how they know who is actually the richest. The same with the corporate docs filed for taxes and ownership...

Your friend most likely has a company that generates $10 B's but his cut is $700 million.

But I have another interesting fact for you...

You don't make $10 million a year so Go Fuck Yourself you lifeless troll post whoring douche bag.

Hmmm, who do I trust more.

Forbes magazine and their team of forensic accountants or a guy from gfy who heard it from some chick who was probably drunk...

1. First of all you need to read the post AND comprehend what I am saying.

2. I performed searches on "Bill Gates" and "richest" and nothing recent comes up in regards to this topic. So how about you post a link to what you are speaking about?

3. I never said my friend cleared $10 billion. Read the post and comprehend.

4. If you think Forbes is a source for truth and good advice then I have a bridge to sell you.

You are 100% correct. I do not make $10 million a year.

I know people who do make much more than $10 million a year and some of them don't know first thing about financial markets. I know much more than them about the subject even though my net worth pales in comparison.

So what is your point? You are saying to to have knowledge on this topic you must make $10 million a year?

Thank you for the info.

I used to base my idea of success on how much money I made. Now my I base my success on how successful my personal relationships are, my self-education, travel, health, and overall well being. Of course many of the people who post on GFY are going to have a much larger net worth than me.

But of course all I have to do is take a quick look around to see that *some* of these people have nowhere near the overall success I that I have. Not that it is a competition because I don't feel that is the proper way to look at it.

I feel the biggest secret to overall success is to recognize toxic people and not allow their words infect you. Instead the way to "win" (agian, not the proper way to look at it but I am using this word as away to commuicate to this specific audience) is to not throw that negativity back at them but to try to help them when they need it. My batting average on this is getting better but I do slip up from time to time.

So why am I even bothering to post this on a chat board? Because someone will read it and perhaps some good will come to them. And since I have begun to live my life this way so many amazing things have happened I cannot even begin to explain. It is interesting that my income and net worth have increased at the same time my former high stress levels have dwindled to almost nothing.

So I wish you the best and thank you for taking the time to comment

By the way, I posted the original message because I was curious at how many "players" took things like the Forbes list at face value. As entrepreneurs and marketers we in fact do not take many things we are exposed to at face value. I am fascinated to speak to people who are mega millionaires and billionaires and discover exactly how much in this world they do take at face value. (no I do not think I am talking to any billionaires on GFY but I do talk to more than one via other channels.

Again, thank you for the information

This is the type of logical thinking that probably got you into porn in the first place.... Let's get it straight, because someone you sort of know may be making $10B a year, Bill Gates is *nowhere near* the richest man in the world?

As for Forbes credibility, well I would agree that like most media take what they say with a grain of salt. On the other hand, who has more credibility, someone posting on a porn forum quoting their daughter's friend's boyfriend (or something like that) or a well-selling business magazine?

FYI, he does not live in USA, Europe, or any of the commonwealth countries.

So the argument in regards to Forbes having access to documents MAY be moot.

I should have stated that: "The country he resides in may not be a country where Forbes enjoys similar access to documents as in USA, Europe, commonwealth countries, etc.

Thanks for all the info guys. Really helps me out.

Just for comparison...

I think it was recently stated that Exxon Mobil is the most profitable company in the world making $40 Billion a year. And this COMPANY is a world wide oil giant.

No one person generates $10 Billion/year.

If a person worth $10 Billion had investments in certain stocks then they could double in one year to make the value $20 Billion. But I don't consider this EARNING $10 Billion per year because stocks can double and then fall very fast. That is just all based on market value which is fickle.

I think the google guys each lost about $8 Billion in value in the last 6 months.

So earning that kind of money and having your net value increase by that amount because of stock market valuations is 2 different things.

If you are going to make an idiotic claim to try and impress people, try making it remotely possible so that someone might actually believe you. This may well be the stupidest thing I have ever heard.

Seems very unlikely that some gfy troll would run into someone that knows someone that makes 10B per year.... but if that's even actually true, so what?

I have some fascination with what goes through the minds of high net worth people. This thread has some people in it who have done very well in their ventures and I respect them.

I spend few days a week writing. This feedback helps with something I am working on. (nothing to do with the topic I posted)

I don't plan to post anymore in this thread because so far most posts have been beyond negative and I doubt anyone with alternative viewpoints will want to join the ridicule along my side.

Ahh. I think I see where the miscommunication went down.

One meaning of "friend" is "acquaintance."

Consider Mr. 10 Bill a year of that relation to you, and... blammo - hijinks ensue.

Yes but he can order his men to kick other's asses if watching normal people irritates him

I was young, poor, new to the biz world in general, new to the adult biz, new to GFY.
KRL was one of the most respected members here.

I appreciated how he shared his wisdom, business experience, gave advice, claimed to be a multi-millionaire and remained humble. He was also involved in the domain game and so were I. Basically, he was an idol for me and I have no problems admitting it.

But you were probaly a troll already back then, so you were coming here to spew hate and stir shit, instead of learning from your betters.

BTW, didnt you make a thread yesterday that you're leaving GFY for a month? WTF are you still doing here?

Huh? He was bragging lunatic with mental issues. I guess you got some shit in your eyes back then (and still do today).
