Mainstream processing is pretty cheap. I use UnitedBank card and they provide a gateway PLUS card scanning units for offline sales.

Here it's either paypal or a MA/gateway from an aussie bank.

The things I've bought online have pretty much always used paypal, their own merchant accounts, go thru authorize.net, or 2checkout. Other than 2checkout, I really don't know of anything else that the surfers would recognise and trust.

If you already have an intl merchant account why do you need anything else? For the branding? Adding an Authorize.net logo to sales pages and to your checkout covers that. Plus offering PayPal as an option at checkout time.
