The Samsung Hybrid Hard Drive, anybody use it? Good?
I am looking to speed up my notebook a little. Got the 4 GB in today, the guy said upgrading my hard drive in my notebook would also help a good amount.
Anybody here have the Samsung Hybrid? |

I've seen a couple of reviews that said it wasn't that much different in performance to a mechanical HD. If you're looking for speed (which is obviously one of the benefits of SSD) then it may be a good idea to wait a little longer until other models are released, and prices come down. Otherwise you're paying $$$ more for a rugged drive that does the same thing your current one does.

Also your laptop would have to have a fast Sata interface. Not all support mode II like desktops do. If it only supports mode 1 then you wont get any benefit at all. |
