So Shap did these ideal affiliates agree to only carry your banners for some traffic?

»Rob Content« 02-15-2008 02:33 AM

It more appears that you are the ideal program for them. They can still use your content, carry full length scenes, push ads elsewhere, have the video link directly to AFF, not have your banners with their vids, and have your permission to do it. So much that you make a post praising them...

I'm checking with a proxy now from different places, and same thing.. No twistys ad at all.

Looks like they are really sticking to the deal Shap... can't you see yet they make their money fucking people, they are going to fuck you as well.

i can't believe shap expected any less from these people. HELLO SHAP! these people make money by fucking everyone else and stealing other people's content. This isn't an " we must have to adapt to tube sites" it is you choosing to do business with content theives. Actually nothing to do with tube sites at all, the content the stolen content could be on any type of site.

I am just wondering to what length Shap will make excuses for how they are fucking him and not following his " requirements" before he admits he was wrong for expecting content theives to actually be honest and keep their end of the deal.

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 02-15-2008 02:34 AM

I'm thinking Shap got himself a whole lot of new webmasters today.

V_RocKs 02-15-2008 02:40 AM

I have a feeling he will make himself feel better by saying, "Yes, of course I told them only US, CA, UK and AU!"

When in reality nothing was discussed.

ladida 02-15-2008 06:38 AM

HAHAHA. Omfg. First it was "Our strict rules", then it was "Okay, they follow them for the most part", and now they're full up sticking it to him by not even carrying the ads when the surfer is from another region. Ahaahha.

It's like when a mother finds out her daughter is doing porn, so its "She's only modeling", to "Okay, she's at least not beeing gangbanged by 3 black dudes and ass gaped".

This board can sure own people :) I'm taking bets now. Will he throw in the lars defense or back out of the deal?

Shap 02-15-2008 07:37 AM

Good Morning to everyone lol

Wow you guys are on fire today. I said for the most part because I was agreeing they broke our rules. I said in my post I'd be contacting them and they'll either be terminated or rectifying the situation. I guess that wasn't clear in my post.

Thanks for pointing out the differences on the videos based on ip tracking.

As I said yesterday once I hear back from RedTube i will post an update to the situation.

Shap 02-15-2008 07:38 AM

Also thank you to those that pointed out the 9 minute videos. I'm looking into that as well.

It's like I have a crystal ball because I already know what the update will be....

You're not going to look into shit......NOTHING will get done...Redtube will continue to be an affiliate...Twistys will continue to make money, the GFY mob will eventually throw down their pitchforks and throw up their links and all will be just like it was before....

If you want to make money regardless, just say it...It isn't like you will lose any money..In fact, you'll probably make MORE money from the people ready to kiss your ass...

Hell, AFF has been sold for a minute now but I'll bet you that plenty of people on here would drop to their knees in a SECOND and blow him just because he's Lars.

Jet - BANNED FOR LIFE 02-15-2008 07:47 AM

Bottom line is, Shap knows that RedTube is full of stolen videos, but he still chooses to advertise there and accept their traffic (coming up with some lame 'rules' to justify it)

This one is and will be pulled today.

Shap 02-15-2008 07:59 AM

Here's the deal. As I mentioned in my post I'm willing to do business with companies that are willing to play by my rules. Right now it appears RedTube is not playing by our rules.

1. I do not allow an ad to be played for another company at the end of our videos. Right now there is an AFF ad.

2. I do not allow a sites to post video 3+ minutes in length of our content. We also do not allow our content to be used without a link back. They are doing both right now. http://www.redtube.com/974

3. There are reports that depending on your ip our ads may not be showing up. This is not acceptable.

I've placed their account on hold until they rectify those 3 problems.

These are the same rules I ask all affiliates to follow and this is the same action I would take on any affiliate violating them. First the account is placed on hold and they are asked to fix the problems. If they do not fix them their account is terminated.

With all due respect, Shap, their whole business model is based on surfers uploading full length videos. That means that sooner or later your full length videos will be back up there.

Seriously mate, "I'm looking into it" if this was any other webmaster there account would be frozen and most likely terminated why give special treatment??

from the looks of things as long as you have big traffic a webaster can dictate on what can and cannot be done, it shouldn't be acceptable and these guys should have there accounts terminated and thats the end of that, it seems to me this is just a win win situation for the people doing the wrong thing.

Anyway thats my 3.am rant off to bed.....

edit I see you have done pretty much that koodus to you night;)

First of all I've never terminated any account without giving the affiliate a chance unless they were fraudulent. That's just the way I run my business. Terminating someone without trying to rectify the situation is just being a dick.

If you read my post you'd notice this account is on hold. Our policy is simple our affiliates either play by our rules or they are terminated. This account is no different. All TwistysCash affiliates are treated equally.

GAMEFINEST 02-15-2008 09:37 AM

Hi JB. Could you grab a screen capture of this for me? RedTube has been very receptive to the issues I brought up with them. Having the screen capture would help fix this issue.

Shap 02-15-2008 10:47 AM

Here is an update on the situation.

We approached RedTube about the issues we had regarding our videos being misused on their site. Their backend is unable to accommodate our requests at this time. As a result they've agreed to remove all Twistys videos and links until they can.

Wouldn't they have known that initially when you laid down your rules to them? Seems like they just agreed to your rules knowing that they couldn't follow them from the start.

I never realized they had an ad at the end of th video clip going to AFF. It is my fault. I didn't watch the clips from beginning to end. Thanks to GFY for catching it for us. :thumbsup

Naturally they didnt and won't.

What makes you think their business model and means of conducting business will change because someone "made a deal"

They stand to earn more by not following Twisty's rules. I mean seriously, do you really think they will play ball cause Shap asked?

Well, you never expect people to play fair ball. You work to levy the best possible situation for you. Shap DID put himself into a position of power by communicating with them, and got his issues resolved pretty quickly. Sometimes making those kinds of efforts can pay off not because of what it can do for you, but by simply giving yourself the leverage to control the situation.

They are apparently working on it right now. They are not only willing to play ball with me but looking to really legitimize their site.

I don't know them well so I'm not going to stick up for them in any way. I'm just telling you what I'm being told. Hopefully they do become 100% legitimate. That would be a positive thing for all of us.

Everyone starts somewhere, if they are making the steps, it only makes sense to give them the chance. If they shoot themselves in the foot, they are only hurting themselves. It's in their best interests to try, and if they're smart they know that. Seems they're putting in the effort, so it will be cool to see where it goes.

Seriously Shap you know I love you guys and all and I can understand some of your points and some of the others, but how is a site like this going to be ligitimate? Cause you know as much as I know that as soon as this guy (redtube) puts up 2 min. max vids his traffic will go away right to the next site with the full videos. So why in hell would he go legitimate?

Its like using DRM, people hate it and as long as there are people out there who don't use it it will never work out.

Btw that said I'll believe it when I see it.

Jdoughs 02-15-2008 11:52 AM

Is a company like Twisty's responsible for earnings lost to the companies who have their content posted? I mean Twisty's is NOT stealing content BUT they are going to be profitizing the traffic, or in other words, profiting off of copyrighted content from other companies. And not accidentally or unknowingly, they completely understand the source of it.

Twisty's is profiting off of traffic generated by stealing content from a huge chunk of the industry. I think if you continue to profit off it that they should take action against you. Its pretty open and close, Twisty's, AFF, and Brazzers are accepting illegal (atleast unethical) traffic and profiting from it.

Redtube posts other companies copyrighted videos without permission, and Twisty's is profiting off it. Bottom line. Redtube can claim they didnt know about it, and removed it when complained about, but what Twisty's is doing is blatent and decided upon. They didnt make this decision unsure of where the vids came from, or unsure of who uploaded them, they just dont care. If they gave a fuck, it wouldnt be happening, that tells us quite alot about the quality of company they are.

So when all these posts are done, we will have a massive site uploading stolen content, and a couple sponsors willing to disregard proper business ethics and accepting that traffic.

I really hope redtube send sales, because im certain this will cost you REAL WEBMASTERS who arent fly by nite thiefs.

As far as them wanting to work with sponsors, i wont get a job at the bank by robbing it, its not the proper way to get a foot in the door. If they wanted to work with sponsors, they wouldnt be sending their traffic from other sites videos to Twisty's AFF and Brazzers.

Yea, they sure will be removing all your videos, like they have removed all other people's videos.

Thing is, you were greedy to make a buck, they pulled wool over your eyes with geo targeting your location and showing you "all is well" and continued to fuck you over. You came to GFY thinking i dont know what (i cannot explain your other thread, better to have stayed quiet). You realised you're beeing fucked from both sides, so you are putting the relationship "on hold".

Future estimates.
You'll find more twistys videos there as more time passes and redtube realises they won't profit enough from you and they'll move to accomodate someone with deeper pockets, to the point they won't even hide your videos like they do now. You'll come bitching to gfy of X and Y company advertising on tube sites. People will give you props, you'll stay a hypocrite anyway.:thumbsup

I think they have a monster they can't control on their hands. They love the traffic and don't want to do anything to give it up. If you gave me a million hit a day site that was loaded with stolen content on and told me to legitimize it. I would make a complete switch to legitimate. Even if 80% of the traffic disappeared you'd still have a huge site The reality is the traffic is all bookmarks and type in traffic. They'd never lose 80%. They wouldn't even lose 50%. It all would come down to how the switch was made. That's what i would do ;)

You already know the fox and the scorpion story.....You did business with the scorpion and he stung you ANYWAY....You got what you deserved.

You asked to get fucked and they fucked you.....Don't put their account on hold now.....It's like how my ex-girlfriend calls me and complains about how her babydaddy is doing her wrong....I tell the bitch, "YOU chose to spread your legs for him while KNOWING that he was a fucking bum....So now he's fucking up, don't tell me shit about it...suck it up and deal with it"..

I seriously doubt that. Unless all tube sites would make that switch you will never keep 50% stick to a site wich once offered full scenes but turned legitimate with 2 min scenes. SO unless you find a way to keep the full videos in a ligitimate way there is no way you will keep 50% or more.
