Exorbitant property taxes, but also crime, unemployment...etc. It's a war zone. The locals are also very rude.

I've been to Bloomfield MI i think just north of Detroit and its really nice. Houses are not pricey either ... but downtown is just like NYC ....

I have a friend on Lake Michigan who is keeping an eye on things for me. He thinks in a year I should be able to get a nice remote house on the lake for dirt cheap. I don't plan to sell it - I'll leave that problem to those who have to execute my will

On a side note, Northern Michigan is a beautiful area.

Michigan is not Flint and the City of Detroit.
