Tom Brady's Deep Comments On The Game

He said something like:

Quote:
"They made some plays. We made some plays. In the end, they made more plays than we did."

That's still less ridiculous than any player thanking god. If there's a god, surely he has better things to do.

Credit the Giants D line with that. He was sacked like 8 times for a net loss of like 37 yards. and that doesnt include how many times they rushed him

He had a great drive right before Eli did. Gianst just played great defense and pressured Brady efficiently.

All he needed to say is, "The best team won".

That's deep too.

What do you expect from him? He just lost the biggest game of his life, then some reporter gets in his face asking him what he thought of the game? They should feel lucky they got any response out of him, especially after he had a remarkably un-brady like game.

100% agreed. Like the old saying goes, that game was won in the trenches. The Pats O line ultimately cost them the game. They couldn't defend the pocket or establish the run.

Contrary to popular opinion, Manning wasn't spectacular. Twice alone on the last drive he could have been picked and ended the game. Full marks to the Giants defense though.

He's never faced a pass rush like that all year, except for the taste he got back in week 17.

manning threw for 250 yards against a very tough defense. He did a good job. He we pretty consistant. but I agree it was not his most spectacular performance. But he did step up and make the play when they needed to be made. That last drive where he got away from the sack and made the complition. Im still asking myself how he did that LOL

People throw around the word choke too often nowadays. That wasn't a choke. If he'd thrown 5 interceptions, that would have been choking. When you're on your back for half the game, that's hardly choking.

I won't argue that, but by the same token, Brady had a higher completion rate, threw for more yards (yeah, he had more pass attempts, but none completed for more than 19 yards) and didn't throw an interception. All that while under constant attack. And people are saying he choked? lol please.

Field position also played a HUGE part in the game.

reminds me of when the commentators are talking before the game and say retarded things like "I really think the team that puts the ball in the end zone the most times tonight is going to win the game"

then the other guy says "Yeah, Bob, both of these teams have trained hard and now they're ready to go out there, make some passes, make some runs, and score some points."

you know, just in case anyone in the audience doesn't know how football works.

yes i agree. I dont believe he choked at all. He and his line were just completely out matched by the giants D. The giants D was ON FIRE. The ENTIRE D ran on all cylinders. I knew they were good but they played GREAT last night. That kept them in the game and allowed eli's last drive to win the game for them

I think the "choke" comes into play not so much for how Brady & co played the game but in the fact that in then end they simply couldn't deliver the prize.

They were bested by a team that played with a lot of heart. I have no complaints about this game at all. Viewed purely on an entertainment level it was one of the best superbowls I've ever seen. The suspence took you right down to the wire, and I'm sure people will be talking about that Manning-to-Tyree play for years to come.

As far as the pats going 19-0 and getting their perfect season and earning their place of unique honor goes... I'd call that a major choke seeing as they were 12 point favorites going into the game.

In fact it's very simple. The Pats didn't go 19 - 0 because they did not deserve it. The best team in the history of the league does not lose in the superbowl to a team that finished the regular season 10 - 6. End of story.

There was so much pressure on him he didn't even have time to setup...

I don't think he's the one responsible.

Yup, it's funny on how people will go down on Brady when actually the Giants Defense clearly made some key plays in that game.

Brady tried his best but he was overpowered by a stronger defense.

End of the day NY WANTED to win the superbowl as the Pats thought they deserved it for having such a great season.

Hope the Patriots learned a valuable lesson by losing this big one.

You're right it was a very entertaining game. But I disagree with the rest.

You didn't hear the PATS saying they were gonna win by 12 points. That was the so-called experts. In reality, they hadn't blown anyone out in over a month and they COULD have lost 4 of their last 8 games. But the Giants were playing really well the last few weeks. That's hardly losing against a shitty team. The experts, and I, underestimated the Giants. They didn't close the deal, but I don't see that as a choke. Now, if they were playing the Miami Dolphins and lost, yeah, I'd probably say they choked.

If their kicker had a 45 yard field goal for the win and missed, I wouldn't call that a choke either. If their kicker had a 20 yard field goal and missed, THAT would be a choke.

Give the guy a break. You know how hard it would be to give an interview after losing a Superbowl game that no one thought they could lose?

The choke is in the 18-1 as opposed to the 19-0 they were after. And whether they said they were going to win by 12 points or not, the fact is they were the heavy favorites going in. No one can argue that.

You didn't see the Brady interview did you? The one where he snickered and laughed at the notion that they wouldn't put up more points than what Burress had predicted?

You should see it before commenting further. :D

I don't see anything wrong with calling it a choke of sorts. They were favored to win, they all were confident they would win, and nearly everyone else expected them to win... and they lost, to a team that barely even made the playoffs. I think I feel safe using the word "choke" here.

I only read some of the text where he said, "So Plax is playing defense?"

By the theory you're posting, if Tiger doesn't win the US open this year, because he's won the last four tournaments on that course and well, because he's Tiger, it's a choke. Again, it's not. People forget that he's playing against the BEST golfers in the world. ..just like the Giants are obviously one of the best teams in the NFL. They DO have a little bit of a say in the outcome do they not? If Tiger pulled a Greg Norman (my favorite all-time golfer btw) and blew an 8 shot lead in the final round of a major...THAT is a choke.

That's the problem when a word becomes too exposed nowadays. It loses ALL meaning because people use it too liberally. Like "Owned" and guaranteeing a win. Neither of those mean anything nowadays.

P.S. Both teams yesterday started on even footing. 0-0. A CHOKE in MY eyes is, had the Pats been up 14 points with 5 minutes to play, and they just FELL APART. Like Norman. An 8 stroke lead and he FELL APART. The Pats didn't fall apart yesterday, they were beaten, on this day, by a better team.

edit-Norman only had a 6 stroke lead. My bad.

its actually pretty simple, the better team won. But then again they should have killed the Pats perfect season in the Final Regular Season game.

While Brady and crew continue to pout, ill be celebrating tommorow in NYC for the Champs.

Spin it any way you like man, but the fact is we disagree. Maybe you didn't interact as much with some of the more rabid Pats fans on this and other boards like I did, who knows. Several, and I mean several of them have been bragging and acting superior all year, always in anyone's face who had the audacity to say even the slightest negative thing about their dream team.

I'm sorry if you can't see it but in certain ways this was a huge choke. And yes, if Tiger Woods expects his next win to be a slam-dunk and everyone else does including all his fans, and he ends up choking in the end and losing then yes... that too is a choke.

Is it really worth arguing about?

Okay fine, you win. The Patriots did not choke. It was, however, an upset. In fact I'll predict it will go down in history as one of the top 10, maybe even the top 5 upsets in sports history. If people want to describe it as a "choke" it really isn't going to bother me that much though. I'm not sure why it bothers you so much.

Might as well said "They scored some points. We scored some points. In the end, they scored more points than we did."

It bothers me in the same way as when people use the term MILF to describe an 18 year old girl with a kid. That's not the context in which the term MILF is meant to be used. Actually, that bothers me a LOT more.

I have no problem agreeing to disagree though and I DO agree that it was DEFINITELY an upset.

Better than just about anything any announcer ever said about a football game. they must give those guys a list of 40 things to repeat over and over during a game.

Where's Howard Cosell when you need him?

MILF and upset, great.... we agree on two out of three at least. That's something.

I do enjoy it when we agree.

Tom Brady is what you would call a 'Player Hater'. They get what they deserve for talking all that shit!

Some of you kids are stupid as hell. No Brady didn't choke. The Giants outplayed the Patriots in every facet of the game. Sure Manning wasn't invincible but he was pretty fucking amazing. He outplayed Tom Brady, got out of 2-3 sacks, and did a Tom Brady-Peyton Manning final touchdown drive. Sorry but the Giants won this, the Patriots didn't lose it.
