They were bested by a team that played with a lot of heart. I have no complaints about this game at all. Viewed purely on an entertainment level it was one of the best superbowls I've ever seen. The suspence took you right down to the wire, and I'm sure people will be talking about that Manning-to-Tyree play for years to come.
As far as the pats going 19-0 and getting their perfect season and earning their place of unique honor goes... I'd call that a major choke seeing as they were 12 point favorites going into the game.

You're right it was a very entertaining game. But I disagree with the rest.
You didn't hear the PATS saying they were gonna win by 12 points. That was the so-called experts. In reality, they hadn't blown anyone out in over a month and they COULD have lost 4 of their last 8 games. But the Giants were playing really well the last few weeks. That's hardly losing against a shitty team. The experts, and I, underestimated the Giants. They didn't close the deal, but I don't see that as a choke. Now, if they were playing the Miami Dolphins and lost, yeah, I'd probably say they choked.
If their kicker had a 45 yard field goal for the win and missed, I wouldn't call that a choke either. If their kicker had a 20 yard field goal and missed, THAT would be a choke.
