What concerts from the past would you pay to see?

Just watching Simon and Garfunkel at what I think is San Fransico.... They are singing 'Mrs Robinson'.

I would have paid good money to see that live!!!

The best concert I have seen live was 'The Who' at Wembely in the late 80's.

40,000 plus people singing 'My Generation' all at once is something you never forget....

ChemicalBrothers @ RedRock!

Me being raised by three MUCH older brothers totally destroyed any appreciation that I could ever have for relic rock.

I would of loved to see Pantera during the Vulgar Display of Power tour.

Anthrax and Megadeth back in the day would be pretty sweet too.

If you don't know Pantera, it doesn't mean youre old neccessarily. They are still popular, but they were the band to match in the metal scene for a while.

Just good old fashioned American rage channeled through kick ass music. You should give it a try sometime. It's good music to work out to or to get some aggression out.

I remember the day he died - I lived on a road called 'Electric Avenue'......

People came from miles around to see it - I am sure it wasnt 'THE' Electric Ave....

Woodstock 1998!

The Offspring, my favorite band of ALL time played that year. I look at live footage quite often (via youtube) and it looked insane. I would have loved to been there. They are going to be at Download 08 with my other favorite band Rise Against....great show.

The easiest way would be to see some of the festivals such as

Isle of Wight 1970 - totally comparable with Woodstock just less mud

California Jammin 1974 - only thing I have seen is Purple and a couple of Black Sabbath songs

and probably all the Lolapalooza's - they always had a great lineup of bands in there

Apart from that:

The Stooges - at the start of the 70's

The Velvet Undergorouind - in the Factory

Deep Purple - Live in Japan 1972

Johnny Winter around 1976 - prefferably Texas

ZZ Top around 1979 / 1980 - prefferably Texas

Judas Priest - new wave of Heavy metal - around 1980 / around the Unleashed in the East times

Iron Maiden - World Tour 1985

Guns n Roses - around the "Paradise City" video shooting time

Jane's Addiction - around the Nothing's Shocking album or at the start of the 90's

Outside of Rock:

The pioneers of fusion Weather Report, The Yellowjackets, Mahavishnu Orchestra and John Coltrane and Miles in their cool jazz era, speaking about cool - Chet Baker, The Bird yet come to my mind..

Too many bands I would want to see, I would actually want to live through the late 60's and through the 70's era, the only problem is that I would probably have a hard time to cope with the 80's after that.
