I had an very unpeasant surprize after new year. Some european ISP's started filtering "illeagal" sites.

Cause is good, to block sites containing illeagal content such as CP, wich is good. Unfortunately some of my sponsors seem to be on list of illeagal sites. I don't know if their sites actually contain something related to CP but i have thought those sites contain just gay porn or S&M. I would never advertise anything wich i know is related to child abuse.

It looks like any porn related site can end up on the list. As what i have seen, some legitimate sites are blocked too. This is a violation of freedom of speech and civil rights. It discriminate sexual minorities, such as gay peoles and legal fetishes.

Besides that, i belive this kind of filtering won't prevent any crimes agains children. It is technically impossible to prevent child abusers to do what they do. They have their closed p2p -networks etc...probably just a tip of an iceberg on public domain.

Techincally ignorant peoples (politicians) might think it is a huge step in fight against sickos but it isn't. It is just an excuse to control peoples web usage and a tool of censorship. China, here we come....

The problem is that nobody knows why some sites end up on that blacklist, how to get accidentally added leagal domains out of it and nobody even know who is responsible of maintaining the list.

Here is the message when trying to browse some BDSM -porn where just adults are related, nothing to do with CP:
"The Child Sexual Abuse Anti-Distribution Filter (CSAADF) is part of the COSPOL Internet Related Child Abusive Material Project (CIRCAMP). The project is initiated by the European Police Chief Task Force - aimed at combating organized criminal groups behind commercial sexual exploitation of children."

Everything what can be done to protect children, have to be done, but this is something else.
