XTube just lets the user upload content that isn't theirs with rewatermarked with their xtube page or freesite to get try to get typeins. In turn, they create a vast network of pages to display their advertising and none of the traffic goes to the people who actually own it!
Even worse, programs are uploading clips to help "brand" themselves with their watermarks!

It will take 10-20 small guys to get together identify their © content hire an attorney and start a class action. As most of you know © now extends to 75 years after the owners death and each infringement can be awarded up to $150,000.00. Target the hosting company and the site owner.
The problems start when they are offshore ?

AFF is the SINGLE reason that all of these illegal tubes and torrents exist. They helped fund just about everyone of them by advertising on them. And they still support all of the big ones.

Go after advertisers on the site and if they sell memberships to their torrent or tube, go after their billing company. If enough of the content owners throw enough shit something will stick. Also sue the people uploading the content to these sites. If it is Joe Blow User, then fuck him to, sue him for stealing your content. The problem isn't the "tube site", it's the "free everything, full video, holy shit all my content is on there posted my some dumbass kid...tube site"
If The Hun had complete full high-res galleries of all your content, it would be the same thing as current "free everything holy shit tube sites"
My "Tube Site" is different -45 second videos - no longer, and I pay the content producers (meaning you) for that content, providing I met them at Internext, I know they are the original owners of the content, and that they are not douchbags.

I think the worst thing about these sites, is that they have all been giving away copyrighted content, and some of them are realising that they need to work together with content producers in order to avoid getting sued, so now they are trying to cut deals and make up, but it sux big time, as it is like a mafia kinda thing: work with me or I screw you up...I don´t see how they are going to somehow legitimate their business and face all the future legal issues they might have...Last edited by nikad; 01-18-2008, 03:02 PM.Comment
