Can you guys make any suggestions?

Also, what do you suggest for affiliate software? What is the favorite amongst affiliates?

I'm finally getting around to setting up this paysite I've always wanted and after I finish the initial design I'm going to have to link these two for mentioned things up.

Oh, a few more questions...

How do the sign up pages work. Do I get initial surfer information and pass it to CCBill or Epoch? Do these companies provide a template or code for this join page or do I have to create it?

How do these two programs link up to the affiliate software?

I'm excited about this project and hope to get some good answers.

I suggest Epoch first, then CCBill as secondary.

Use Epoch's Free MPA3 powered affiliate system, which allows cascading to CCBill (and others).

I believe with both you can use their default join pages (the page after the surfer chooses his join price options) and also customize it to match your site.

yes. They click the price option, it goes to an Epoch or CCbill hosted page that gathers all the information needed for the transaction. But you can customize those pages as well.

Does Epoch charge a $750 Visa card application fee, like CCBill does?

At the moment I use CCBill and Verotel, because Verotel does not charge $750 for Visa.

nats is a cascading system, it allows you to set/revolve payment options for your customers, and tracks

i know ccbill cant do this and dont think epoch can either

I was impressed with what I saw about Segpay and NATS. I guess they are going to be offering NATS for free once they come out with their hosted version. Looking forward to it. Thinking about trying them out.

How is Segpay? Anybody have good/bad experience with them?

So I can setup my whole affiliate program through Epoch or CCBill?

The NATS is just something extra if I want my affiliate program more customizable?

if your just starting out, i would go with ccbill and use their system, i was pointing out the ideal setup with the current options

I would go with Epoch, it has a better affiliate system, it has cascading that is not in Beta and works with several other processors (CCBill only works with Epoch right now, and is in Beta testing). You can have Epoch pay affiliates (including your secondary processor sales) or you can choose to pay them.

I would suggest CCbill/Paycom/SEG/Verotel as you seem to be starting out. Once you reach $30k per month in processing volume and are in business for at least 6 months, we can provide with with very low cost processing compared to 3rd party processors and offer you the control and flexibility that many larger merchants favor.

jonpotz - If your company is based in the US then you'll have to pay the Visa registration fee regardless of which processor you use. However, there are no other set-up fees and with Epoch we do not take/hold a reserve. Additionally, if we are set up as your primary billing company then you can take advantage of our free cascading software so you would not need to purchase/license NATS.

If you spent $18,000 on startup content... $1800 on a tour... $600 on FHG/Banners/Etc... $1200 for hosting... $10,000 for traffic...

Why not pay the fee and consider it part of your startup costs? It actually seems iniscule in comparison to everything else you are shelling out money for.

jonpotz, you will also have to pay the $750 Visa registration for each processor you set up with. CCBill has now launched its new cascading system, but don't let the beta word scare you. This sytem has been in beta for a year and we have many accounts working as well as new versions already having been released. Why else would we announce a release to everyone? You certainly want to work with a trusted name in the industry and all of the above mentioned are just that. Of course, I like CCBill but I am a bit biased ;-) Email me at doug at ccbill dot com and I will be happy to send further details. One last bit, our new "Regional Billing" system which allows you to increase your foreign revenues is going to be very big for our clients!

Why not pay the fee and consider it part of your startup costs? It actually seems iniscule in comparison to everything else you are shelling out money for.
