haha... here we go. almost 4 years and everyone is still saying tube sites will die as if it makes any sense.

time to come to grips with a few facts.

1) tube sites convert traffic
2) tube sites are profitable (the ones i know well are)
3) bandwidth/storage will only get cheaper
4) broadband and user internet speeds are only going up

.... so... thinking this isn't something thats here to say is insanely naive... even delusional.

Strange that they would be selling it out.... always a reason why someone sells something, just would be interested as to why... because it's got to be paying its bills, therefore, must be making at least enough to cover that, and probably making a fairly healthy profit as well.

Youtube just set a bad example that many have followed. Built an empire on stolen content, hemoraged money for years, and the got bought up by google for a hefty sum.

I had to go back over a year, but I finally found a thread about RedTube that wasn't started by xxxjay :thumbsup

I think what a lot of people are forgetting is its not the actual site that is pulling in revenue, but these visitors sign up for an "account" so they can post their :2 cents: about videos. Get enough email addresses + some "marketing" = nice return

My brothers friend has some free video game site and makes people register with their info before they can play. He says he makes 20x more money from email marketing to those people than he does off any ads on the site

my :2 cents: are people are still stuck on that the only way to make money is to get people to a site, get them to click on the affiliate link and join. Surfers these days are way more savvy then they were 5 years ago. Conversion rates were high because people didnt know that there was so many torrent sites, tube sites, newz and free sites to download content from... it was only napster, limewire and old fashioned IRC.

I was thought to be a geek when i was in college because i know how to use mIRC, and even before that, AOL chat rooms.

Eh, times have changed and its time to adapt or die IMO
