This is part of series of Adult Webmastering 101 articles that are aimed at new webmasters. All of the tutorials and additional tips can be found on my Webmastering 101 blog which is located in the resources section of the Max Cash affiliate area.
========================= In previous articles that I have done for the Adult Webmastering 101 series, I have written a good deal about language and the way it is used on your sites. In this article, rather than focusing on keywords and search engine targeting, we will look at a method that can be used with the language on your page to help you convert your surfer into a sale. I have found that if I set out to mimic the language on the sponsor site I am promoting that I tend to have better conversions. By mimicking the language I mean using the same kinds of words they use with the idea that a surfer that engaged with the terminology used on my site will therefore also be more likely to also engage with the site I want them to join. The first step in preparing such text is to do something that far too few affiliates do - look at the sponsor site's tour. Load up the tour of the site you are going to be promoting and see the words they use to 'talk' to their surfers. Do they call their models 'babes' or do they use 'chicks' instead? Is a penis a 'cock' or is it a 'dick'? Are breasts called 'tit' or 'boobs'? Take a mental note of this sort of thing and then use the same sort of language in your text and in your text links leading to the site. Essentially, this is all about appearing to be singing from the same hymn sheet as the site you are promoting. Even if you are doing search engine pages where you are targeting different keywords that perhaps aren't used on the sponsor site to describe the action you can still mimic their language in other areas. For example, you can use the same concept when it comes to describing what they are getting when they join and what kind of membership they are getting. So, if the sponsor tells them on their site that they will be getting a 'free trial', use that language but if ,as is the case with Max Cash, the surfer is told they are getting a "Free Lifetime Membership" use that instead. Even using 'bucks' and 'dollars' to match how it is used on the site you are promoting can help to keep the same feel between your site and the site you are promoting. |

bump. great tip.
It is always better to use a promotional phrase from the sponsors tour on your promo page rather than just use "visit x site here". I see so many promo pages only use basic text like that to get people to go to the sponsor. It is just not that effective. You need to sell the site using a good promotional phrase and the sponsors site usually has some good ones.

This is a fantastic tip. I have used this for general SEO in other projects... ie identify th language used in the "niche" and try to mimic it.. especially phrases.
my personal opinion is tht google's strength is in it's ability to put 2 and 2 together based on context.... so when you are optimizing, again IMO, its best to optimize for a topical phrases rather than just keywords. ie You can say the same shit a bunch of different ways using different words but still mean the same thing.
