I haven't been following up on them for a while, but I remember from few months ago, Kink had 60 - 80 thousand members any given month. Each of them paying some $29.95 or so.... I'm pretty sure they can afford some lawyers

Yes I did and I will say it again.I guess they like spending money on lawyers. if you have your own merchant account and process your own transactions, aren't YOU the credit card biller?

Surely with their sales levels they could bypass a CCBill type company altogether, but maybe that doesn't solve the issue?

Anyone know?

Its not a matter if you process via your own merchant account or not.

When you have such a big income and member base as kink does you dont want to piss off your bank or anyone else,so you walk slow and carefull and communicate with them regarding everything you do.
