SEO Help! Part 2 - Old Weird URL's Showing up in Google
Thanks for all the help last night everyone with our IP in Google.
![]() Today's problem is: ASS Porn Site Reviews by Adult Site Surfer Adult Site Surfer features reviews and ratings of the best porn sites. www.adultsitesurfer.com/reviews/only3x/ - 54k - Cached - Similar pages - Note this That looks like a quite old URL. The current URL is: http://www.adultsitesurfer.com/review/only3x/index.html No idea why Google is listing these, but it's doing it a bunch! I know we redirect our old URL's to the new ones, maybe it's any new sites we review aren't getting those redirects, and for whatever reason Google still thinks they should be there? What's the right thing to do here? |

This time from what I can see, rather than an old onsite link, there are a bunch of offsite links pointing to pages/subdirectories in the old /reviews/ directory.
That is of course beyond your control and redirecting like you are doing means you aren't losing any traffic. The only alternative would be making those pages 404 until most of them drop out of the index in weeks or months and you would lose the traffic and I guess the backlinks too while waiting for that to happen. So I could be wrong but I don't see it as a problem and like I said ain't nuttin you can do about it anyway even if it was. Looks like you may need to fine tune the /reviews/ to /review/ redirect rules though to prevent cases like these: http://www.adultsitesurfer.com/reviews/ http://www.adultsitesurfer.com/revie...tml/index.html but I suck at redirects so can't help you there. ![]() |

or.......
![]() were you actually asking why some of the old pages indexed weren't redirecting? Unless I am hallucinating, the google cache updated or something happened while writing the last post, maybe from me typing the urls into the google search bar because I coulda swore I saw some funky looking page on clicking your first link but now both appear to be the same. ![]() time to step away from the computer ![]() |

We fixed the problem Oz..
![]() Thanks for trying to help, I think we're making a lot of great changes atm.. Have all the page in DIV's now, no tables as well.. Also validates XHTML, etc etc.. Not instated yet, but close.. Also added a bunch of nav pages to nofollow, I hope we see some positive results ![]() The proper 301 redirecting and no IP's in google is the best though for sure lol And hey man add me to ICQ, I wanna chat.. 437201916 |

I hope you're right V Rocks
![]() It's stuff like this that perplexes me: Keyword in Google "My Sexy Kittens" We have a review of this site here http://www.adultsitesurfer.com/revie...ens/index.html Was written in 2005, has a PR2 I can't find it in Google's results at all! Rabbits, BravoPorn/CrocsReviews all rank first page for their reviews. ALL the other review sites (except ours, of course) are on the last page! Like they're grouped together or something: http://www.google.ca/search?q=my+sex...start=700&sa=N The Best Porn, Snails Reviews, Porn Inspector, hahahahahahahaha, Self Lovers World, etc etc etc, all on this last page.. And there's only 1000 listings or so for this keyword.. Not that concerned my page has PR and isn't listed, but more concerned that all the review sites except the handful that Google is currently in love with are being listed very last.. |
