Satellite Radio?

Hey folks - so the wife.. (okay..okay.. and me too) wants to give Satellite Radio a try. We're not the types to drop in 3K in speakers, amps, eq's, and other shit like that. I just want a Satellite Radio that fits nicely in the deck space in the new ride (Suburnban Z71) and uses the existing Bose speakers that came with the truck.

The space is 2X the height of a normal deck.

So - Any suggestions on units? Brands? Place to Buy?

Dont go with Sirrius, It is inferior to www.xmradio.com and is rumored to file bankruptcy. XM radio is a different technology where you receive the signal directly from the satellite and has true nationwide coverage whereas Sirrius relies on a serious of transponders on the ground to deliver the signal.

XM also has better programming, most of which is commercial free.
Check out there site to see all the different units you can buy.

Definately the best gadget I ever bought.

I installed the Pioneer FM modulated unit in my Audi, as I didn't want to replace the stock Bose system. I was a bit reluctant at first, but the quality is exceptionally good. The iinstallation is super clean, as we hid the control module neatly in the console ashtray, which can still be closed to completely conceal the unit.

The only pitfall with the current systems is the lack of discreet antennas in my opinion. I had the Terk surface mount unit installed on the rear deck, inside the car. It only fades on rare occasions.
