So who thinks minusonebit/Keith Kimmel is a religious nutjob tool with an agenda?

Anyone here want to vouch that the guy has sent them any noticeable amount of traffic?

Anyone here want to vouch that they have hired him to do anything?

Here are his two most noted adult industry activities to date:

(1) Made available hundreds of webmasters' epass login info.
(2) Put out an incredibly misleading press release suggesting that 95% of adult websites use NATS and that the recent alleged NATS data leak included all customers' credit card information.

Something about the whole NATS witchhunt and the way minusonebit was chortling on Slashdot about how neither TMM or the adult industry would ever recover from his smear job raised my hackles.

So I read Keith Kimmel's resume on his web site. As near as I can tell, he currently has a lot of paper routes. His previous work experience is customer support. There is nothing to imply that he has ever been a webmaster of any kind, mainstream or adult. His one claim to fame appears to be having persecuted a local, I kid you not, pizza parlor in Ohio. (I mean persecuted and not prosecuted.)

I'm not sure if minusonebit/Kimmel's motivation is religious in nature or some other message transmitted via microwave to tinfoil hat, but he appears to be deliberately trying to sabotage our industry. He applauds the Unabomber on one of his sites and his threads on GFY seem not just intended to annoy, but to damage. The guy brags about his lawsuit Kimmel v Ulrey Foods d/b/a Flyers Pizza like it makes him a paladin white knight. He seems to have some kind of savior complex and it strikes me that he is freaked out about pictures, text, and video of people, you know, doing it and is doing his darnedest to make publication of such materials less profitable.

I think he's a crusader of some kind, and John pressed his buttons by declaring war against him (threatening to sue him) for his comments. Why would you want to antagonize someone like that Amelia? You know it just brings a lot of unnecessary headache and negativity your way. I think everyone should just ignore it and not fuel that fire.

seems to me that that part of it is coincidental to his overall 'privacy' theme that is consistent, I don't see a religious slant to any of it, but I guess it doesn't really matter... .don't know why I am bothering to type this at 7am after a long night..

You are definitely right. I can't tell if it is a religious crusade or some similar motivation.

You are also right that I should just ignore it because it is likely to only get more annoying. When it was just posts on GFY, I did ignore it. But I just couldn't let it pass when he started posting such misleading nonsense about the whole industry on non-industry sites. People could actually believe the nonsense he is spreading and that could be really damaging to all of us.

my guess is that two wrong types of people tangled. John does throw out the word " sue " A LOT. He has the resources to carry it out. He is also stubborn and will argue with every post someone makes about him on GFY no matter who it is from. Minusonebit obviously has some legal experience himself and seems to like legal battles (for what reason - money, fame, bordem, etc.. I do not know). He also seems like he his a determined person and has a lot of time on his hands. Minusonebit started on John, John threatens to sue and "asks for people" to give him minusonebit's contact info to serve him. Minusonebit goes berzerk and get in high gear John/NATS attack mode. John can't have this so if the sue talk was a threat now he feels like he has to follow through with it to teach him a lesson for messing with him.

About the only thing you got right about me is that I don't care what you people think. I saw the issue on Gay Main Street where one of the admins had tacked up a notice about it and a link to the OC3 Networks thread here. I read the thread, saw some of John's assine comments and how he simply didn't seem to fucking care about the fact that his incompetence had just resulted in a breach of my data and that of others. I got pissed off, John tried to strong arm me and then (wisely) backed off when he saw it wasn't going to work. The rest of the industry proceeded to try and save John from me (and still is trying to do that) by strong arming me and thinking that it can dig up "dirt" on me and publish it here and that by doing so I will get mad and run away, so the industry made itself a target as a whole and I went from a simple search and destroy mission into a full fledged war. We not sit at full war status right now.

I can confirm four things at this time:

• I do have a plan. Only a moron runs into battle without a plan.
• This is ugly already. It will not be getting any prettier.
• I am at war and I see no peace treaties on the horizon.
• There will be legal action.
