What are the advantages of DEDICATED hosting please?

Hello, please do not fill this thread up with links to dedicated hosting, but why should I move up to dedicated.
First of all the advantages I see are that, if on a virtual someone shares a site and gets alot of traffic one day, your site will also be slow.
Also does dedicated help google rankings due to the server being quicker and online more?

As you can see my knowledge is very limited on this subject so please help.

it's like a public pool or a private pool.

do you want some little kid pissing in what you swim in?

shared is cheaper, but has it's limitations. it just depends on what you need, usage wise.

A dedicated server, or managed hosting service is a type of hosting account where the client leases an entire server that is not shared with anyone.

This is more flexible than shared hosting, as Dedicated server hosting plans also give you more control providing clients with greater flexibility regarding software installs and admin options including choice of operating system, hardware, etc.

So the basic differences between dedicated server hosting in comparison to virtual or shared hosting is more flexibility with regards to what you can install on your server, & All of the resources are 'dedicated' to your personal use providing added stability as well.

You should contact the host you are considering going with and ask them a few questions and let them know what your needs are so they can best assist you. You may be fine with a shared account for now with an eye towards upgrading in the future.

Hope this helped. Good luck!

Hi Frank,

Feel free to contact me regarding your needs and I will be happy to offer you some options. As Gerald mentioned in his post, based on your needs you may only need a shared plan, however, its important to figure that out ahead of time.

Good luck and I hope to hear from you.
