FireFox settings and Transerferring your settigs to a new computer. How do you do it

Hey Gfy,

I have a new computer and I have been using this laptop for the past 2 years and all my bad ass firefox settings are here.

How can I transfer everything from this computer to a new one with a small zip pen drive.

I know its possible, I just can't remember.

Check out FEBE

Quote:
FEBE backs up your extensions, themes, and (optionally) your bookmarks, preferences, passwords, cookies and just about everything else Firefox offers (it can even backup/restore your entire profile).
Works perfectly for me

If you want to synchronize your bookmarks between multiple computers then use Foxmarks or Google's Broswer Sync.

Step 1 - make sure your folder options are set to show hidden files and folders
Step 2 - go here - C:\Documents and Settings\*Your account name here*\Application Data\Mozilla
Step 3 - copy that folder onto said pen drive
Step 4 - install FF on the new machine
Step 5 - go to that same place on the new machine, and paste the folder
Step 6 - Handy J for Jeff in Vegas - I'm filmin' it this time!!

this is how I do it:

put firefox on the new machine and run it to make a default profile
that should make a directory for profile stuff like:

c:\documents and settings\user\application data\mozilla\firefox\profiles\(somerandomshit).def ault

now close firefox and go to that folder on your old machine and copy it into the directory on the new machine

the profiles are named with ("somerandomshit) for security I guess
