Why do Ron Paul supporters get their panties in a bunch when you...

Tell them the truth about his chances of winning?

It's great that you love the guy and all but there's the world as you wish it was, and there's the world as it is.
In the world as it is, Ron Paul doesn't get elected president.

I love the Miami Dolphins, but if I tried to convince you they were going to beat the Patriots this weekend you'd think I was a bit crazy too.

Knowing that my dolphins are most likely going to get their asses kicked, and being willing to admit it, doesn't make me any less of a fan.
You should think the same way about your candidate.

I guess some people only care about winning, while others are happy with the positive progress they made in an unwinnable situation to begin with.

I said a long time ago that Ron Paul is to the republicans what guys like Dennis Kucinich and Ralph Nader are to the democrats.
They're there to keep the front runners honest, to force them to speak to issues that are important to the base of the party. Otherwise all the top tier candidates would be making a rush to the center on all of the issues.

Unfortunately alot of these Ron Paul supporters have so much of an emotional investment in the guy that they really think he's going to win, and they call you names if you don't agree.

With that analogy i came to the conclusion that your ass and a chair at a higher education classroom have never met.

Ron Paul has a much better chance of becoming our president than the dolphins ever being good again.

You could have chosen many other topics and would have been correct but you had to choose one where you are oh so wrong.

And it is your contention that the Miami Dolphins will never be in a position to draft/trade to become a good team?

It's his contention that Ron Paul has a good chance of winning the presidency.

After reading that did you really expect logic and reason to be a factor in anything else he wrote?

I never said he had a chance of winning. i just said he has a better chance of winning than the dolphins being good. I stand by that statement. The dolphins will not be good for centuries to come.

I predict the Dolphins earn a wildcard shot within 3 years.

I further predict that Ron Paul doesn't win any of the next 3 presidential elections.

Btw, wasn't there a Ron Paul in porn years ago? That's a good porn name. Oh wait, I think maybe it was Ron Pole I'm thinking of, sorry. :D

Ron Paul has every chance in the early states and is campaigning hard, expect a good showing to build momentum plus he has more cash than anyone and is campaigning nationally in multiple states, IA, NH, NV, SC, MI, FL, CA, NY, no one else can do that except possibly 2 other candidates (one of which has already given up on the early states) so we'll see

Valid points. Just as Perot brought fiscal responsibility to the discussion in the 90's maybe Paul can do the same. I don't think many of his supporters are under any illusion about the odds of winning. The odds are very slim to say the least, but that doesn't mean to stop trying. Some don't feel it is a waste of time to support the right man for the job. To me, it's a waste of time to vote for a huckabee-mccain-romney-thompson. These guys want to keep us on the same path.

it doesn't take a genius to figure out that he can do well in Iowa and New Hampshire, Iowa independent said he was 3rd a few weeks ago and polls in iowa have him as a statistical dead heat for third, if he can get third or 2nd and do the same in New Hampshire (his best first chance of winning a primary due to libertarian nature of the people there) then he will have a lot of momentum, he is already in double digits in SC according to a CNN poll and NV is a libertarian state and fertile ground for more votes and delegates

so yeah, he has a good chance and I expect him to bring out some last minute ads and really hammer it home in the next few weeks.

Who says we don't? Remember way back when you learned can't never did? If there is not a dream and optimism there will never be real change for the better! You are making the establishment argument.......sure hope that the drones remain complacent and pessimistic so that we can be elected / re-elected!

Who is "they"? The media? i mean, you really think every editor and reporter at CNN, Fox or the NY Times are SCARED of Ron Paul's candidacy and that's why he is getting less coverage than the candidates that are WAY ahead of him in the polls?

He's currently in 6th place every major poll. He gets about as much coverage as one would expect. There is NO reason to give him as much media coverage as Giuliani, Huckabee, Clinton or Obama. The most interesting story about him has been his fund-raising which has been covered fairly.

Huckabee is the candidate who is surging in popularity. Not Paul. That is why there is so much coverage of Huckabee right now.

The 6th place candidate on the democratic side is Dennis Kucinich. Not hearing much about him either.

The frontrunners get the most media attention because that is what is most interesting. Not the candidates near the bottom of the poll results.

Ron Paul will never get elected President. He is right about 98% of the time on the issues. But, he is not as likeable as Huckabee, or even, (ugh!) Bill Clinton.

Likeability is what gets people elected, and it is a reason why Hillary will go down in flames.

He's got a chance as an independant, but not likely as a GOP contender.

It's important that people run, despite their chances. This country wasn't founded on sure bets, it was founded on long shots.

Ron Paul has no chance of getting the Republican nomination... but even after his answer at the MSNBC Republican Debate where he said he wouldn't run as an independent... yesterday on Meet The Press he told Tim Russert that there is a chance... .01% that he would run as an independent... in political speak I think this means he will run as an independent when he doesn't get the Republican nomination... he just can't say he will right now... since he is currently a Republican. Anyway around... he says some interesting things... but in the end he is a wackadoo.

kerry and edwards were polling lower than Ron Paul is polling now. Polls have been meaningless for along time now. "National" polls with 300 people called really should not be called a national opinion poll.

You havent figured out by now that NOONE in this country believes those polls are worth a shit. We no they are created to control the mind, which obviously works for people like you. Check out this poll I found

Republican Candidate NH
Ron Paul 33%
Rudy Giuliani 6%
John McCain 14%
Fred Thompson 3%
Mitt Romney 21%
Mike Huckabee 6%

guess where that one comes from.
