Can I bring booze on a flight these days?

So I'm boarding a flight from LAX today.

For "security" measures, I know we're supposed to now have all of our liquids in max 3 ounce containers, and carry on no more than will fit inside a quart-sized zip-lock back (i.e. sandwich bag)...

But what I don't know is do they restrict booze from being one of these liquids?

I've read some of the published material, and it seems a bit gray in that area, so I figure I'd ask here if anyone has experience getting booze in the cabin.

Deciding I don't need hand lotion or perfume or whatever... can I stuff as many of those 50ml bottles of booze I can into a sandwich bag, and board the plane?

If you buy from the duty free they'll deliver it to you at the gate of your flight (usually at the end of the tunnel thingy)... Otherwise if it's over 3 ounces and not a solid it's not getting through security.

Well... one a couple of the containers I plan on taking are JD... but not all.

I'm certainly all about the whiskey, though.

I'll keep that in mind if it's determined they're illegal.

Right... I got that part. The 50ml bottles I'm thinking of bringing are under 3 oz. each... .and I plan on bringing them through security through the "security" protocol of stuffing them inside the sandwich bag... but I wonder if they're gonna go "Wait! this isn't hairgel... it's /gasp... BOOZE!" and try and gank them from me in the name of national security.

I guess I could pay $5 if I didn't mind them charging me 300% something's worth simply because they got a bunch the foot-soldiers of our fascist regime at the gate shaking me down.

But I do mind... so... I'm wondering how hard they're gonna shake.

Anyone actually tried to get those lil' booze bottles in legit before and told something one way or the other?

Every airport is different, some dont even check for anything, some go through your purse and bags, just depends.

It's always been a federal crime to drink your own booze on an airplane, that's not new (or really enforced). Never had a problem with security though as that's not their department, it's the flight attendants I believe.

This liquid rule is a big drag though, I used to fill a grape gatorade bottle with red wine and get trashed in style on the plane

Last time I have missed the check in and that was a disaster - that wankers stripped me off of my 14 beers (real Budweiser from bohemia) and two bottles of the best French wine.

They didn't care about the knives / matches / lighters - anything else illegal remained there they just had to strip me of all of my booze.

I told them DON'T YOU DARE TO EVER THROW THAT OUT! Make a PARTY!

If I am having that with me for 7000 miles it was just breaking my heart if someone was trashing the best beer in the world in front of my eyes..

Your post brings back memories of a trip I took to Vegas from DC ten years ago with 6 friends of mine.

We each brought on 1/2 gallon size bottle of Guava Juice on the plane that was 50% Vodka and another friend had a zip of blow on him.

By the time we got to Vegas we were so fucked up not one of us made it out that night.
