How much is to much? (biz thread)

Ok so we are looking at getting a new affiliate manager. But the more I deal with these guys from other companies the more it makes me doubt our decision to have one.

Were do you draw the line between new client acquisition and annoying emails/spam?

EX. UltraDNS has been talked about allot in how they call and call and call to sell you the service even when you ask not to be called and I as well as many others wont use them for this fact alone.

There is a few of these companies still contacting me and they don't get it. I will talk to you if im interested. In fact I will not use any of these companies with reps like this just for principle.

How many times after you say no before it becomes annoying to the point you just wont do business with them no matter what?

I've always been a sales person ... I hate it, but I'm good at it and well, I'm just a salesperson for life.

However ... "No" in sales people terms means "not yet." It does not mean become ridiculously annoying, hit me up, email me, ICQ me when I've told you once I'm not interested. Just end it with, "well if you change your mind, let me know." Then in about a month or two, you can hit them back up with "I know you said you weren't interested last time, but I just wanted to followup and see if anything new developed."

If you get a no again, just say thanks and move on.

I like to think I'm professional and get the job done, but I also know when to take a hint.

All of these account rep threads lately and the practices of reps is making me mad because they give us all bad names!

If I tell someone that I will contact them when we are ready and they come back and call me "twice" before I am ready to move forward.
That is crap and we tell them to go elsewhere.

I tell people who annoy me to death that if they keep contacting me i'll get their domains banned from google. Amazing how fast they'll back off.
