thanks, i wasn't really trolling for sympathy and don't expect it. it was a very long time ago. but its a true story. we had a huge argument on her birthday. the first time we every fought. i was 15 (so i guess she was 32 because she had me at 17). i went home and was waiting to apologize for ruining her birthday. i sat by the door expecting her at 5:30 or so... i sat there staring at the door until 9:30 when one of her friends called and asked if she was home.. then told me she saw what looked like her car in a bad accident.
i never got to apologize to her.
and why?
because some addict could just as easily rationalize driving drunk. like you, he didn't say "holy shit, that was the most irrisponsible thing i have ever done in my life and i'm glad i didn't kill anyone"... like you, he was probably telling himself "wow, hahaha... that cop didn't notice i was high and drunk.... thank god i didn't lose my license... that would have sucked!"
so here you are... you claim to fully understand what its like.. yet are very clear that you are not concerned about it and very sure that it can't happen to you. wow.

Second, I am the mosy pro-cab / anti-drunk-driving guy on this board. Ask anyone who goes out with me on a regular basis. I didn't even plan drinking as much as I did. Was I impared legally? Sure. Was I really that fucked up? No. I could pass the dozen or so field sobriety test the guy gave me, so I couldn't have been that bad. If they had breathalized me, I'm sure I would have been so ridiculous number, considering I hadn't really eaten much either. That's why I say I fear the legality more. I was nowhere near driving up the wrong lane. In fact, the cops didn't even say I was drving irradicly. The bars were just getting out, so I was an easy mark.

A lot of rationalizations... and no acceptance of responsibility. This is a very sad statement. let me clue you in on a fact about alcohol that everyone understands except you. Alcohol impairs your judgement... FIRST. but not yours of course. you are totally under control in a 500Hp Mercedes after 7 beers and 6 shots.
oooh... wait... you said you were high and drunk and WAAAAAAY over the limit. right? i mean thats exactly what you said... here... let me quote you since your memory seems to be clouded:

hmm... yeah, don't worry about killing people. it can't happen to you. but DO worry about getting into trouble. i mean fuck running over an 7yr old, lets think about your license or the possibility of your car getting impounded... thats the real shit that destroys lives afterall. people can just have more kids anyway.

Uhmm... dude. seriously, its called denial. It's a problem addicts have. Furthermore, they frequently do things like blog and post to the public about their fucked up behaviors becuase they are crying for help.

Confusing... you should have failed? BUt but ... but... you're fine right? ok to drive? Why would you EVER fail a field sobriety test if you weren't too drunk to drive?
again... its called denial and you are a textbook addict.

Third, it's something I will never do again and I never really did anyway.

No... its something you did and then made light of the fact that you could have killed someone. In fact, you went out of your way to say that harming others wasn't your concern at all

again... narcissistic much?
THE END OF YOU?
Hmmm... what about murdering others?
I mean you've lost many friends to drunk driving accidents. You totally know the risks and how many lives you can destroy with a simple bad decision like the one you made.
however, you still don't take responsibility for the danger you posed to others... because you drank 6-7 beers and 6 shots of jeager and then went for a drive in a super fast sports car.

I would be nice had you just admitted that it was horribly wrong and horribly irresponsible and you fully understand that you could have easily killed innocent people.
I dont expect anything at all i am saying, or what others are saying to impact your thinking at all. You're an addict. You're in denial. You accept zero responsibility for your actions. You have a ways to go probably before you hit rock bottom and finally figure it out, if you survive... hopefully you will only kill yourself on the way down.
