Have you seen death?
Everyone I'm sure has tragic stories.
The closest I ever came to witnessing a death was about three minutes after it happened. We came over a hill and a man on a tractor had just been "sideswiped" by a speeding Camaro. He was lying on the ground and his head had just been covered with a towel. There was a pool of blood around his head. The ambulance had yet to arrive. I'll never forget it.

Shit...you mean die? From drugs? How much and what were they taking?
I'll admit that I'm not a war veteran, or live in LA, but I did watch a buddy of mine FUNNEL a 40oz of Vodka once. He lasted maybe three minutes before the ambulance was called...his eyes just rolled to the back of his head and stayed like that. THis was on an Indian reserve in rural Canada and convincing an ambulance to come on the reserve was pretty tough.

I was driving and had exited to get some gas,
the exit went down hill then all off a sudden i heard this car hit the side rails. the car flew in the air and turned on its driver side and i could see the bottom of the car, then i seen the guy fall out of the car as it was falling on the side of the hill, i was so close that the spare tire came off and bounced in front of my car, i was trippin out cause i saw the guy laying on the ground. there was another car with people on the lane by the hill and they got out first. i was closer to the gas station and they yelled for me to call 911, wouldn't you know i dialed 911 and got a busy number, took me 5 minutes before i got thru, ya 911 is joke right,, later on the news i heard he died. |

I once pulled over to see what happened at a scene of an accident (no police arrived yet), and a speeding motorbike who didn't want to wait for a truck to get off the on-ramp tried to cut off the truck while it was raining and slide on the road and fell under the trucks tires. Truck crushed him and his helmet (with his head) had been severed from the rest of his body. After throwing up for 20 minutes and recurring nightmares for a week I finally got over it.
Still, I have never felt comfortable on a motorcycle ever since. WG

I used to work in a morgue/funeral home...I've seen more death than some will ever see in their lives. The one that sent me over the edge and on a new career path was a 5 year old girl who was killed when her mother was driving drunk and ran into a ditch and ran up the embankment bitching about her car and dress as her daughter drowned in the water. I was assisting during the autopsy (just handing sponges, etc. as I didn't have a medical license so couldn't do too much until time to dress the corpse for the funeral) and to this day (almost 15 eyars later) I still see that little face in my sleep sometimes.....

as far as the 'faces of death' kinda death, yeah i've seen it on the road a few times. it always bothers me. its handled less 'clinically' other countries. when i was in brazil i was with some really sick fucks who went looking for accidents (they were lawyers, need i say more?). once i was in a mall parking lot and some guy stomped on his accelerator in reverse and smashed a lady one of those cement cinderblock walls. she collapse and turned purple, and died of internal damage before an ambulance could arrive. i've also been in a couple near death fight kinda situations. i don't start shit, it's just heavy karma i guess. better than getting nuked i guess.

From the funeral parlour to the international virtual parlour of sin (umm, my description of the biz). Dude, is it a coincidence or do you always pick jobs that put you as close to HELL as possible. LOL. That's rough. What does a naked dead body look like?

Yeah.
I swear death fogs up mirrors when people die in the bathroom. I am not sure if you are familiar with "when certain drugs kinda become popular" here in the US. But, to date. I lost a friend when Rhipinol (sp) made it big in the mid nineties more 94 I believe. I lost a friend to K (ketaset?) not sure on amount, this is all about new drugs and the fools who try them. Both were newer drugs at the time, or at least in our area which would be New Orleans. Its mostly a drinking city. Most of the drugs are dirty and have to travel a bit to make it there so its mroe rish involved. The 3rd and 4th were both found with needles in their arms chasing crank/junk/H couldve even been some opium or Laudnum, no clue, its all junk to them. I am certain it was dirty crank but can't make any serious sayings on it. Good Morphine in a reasonable shot wont kill you, nor will opium. These guys wouldnt have shot too much, and I wasnt down at the hospital claiming otherwise. Died with the needles in arm = dirty drink. RIP bros. Im done speaking of this.

I was part of the panama conflict. I was one of the guys chosen to go and get a u-boat that our navy seals had taken out of action. They killed all soldiers that were onboard and made one hell of a mess.
They had us "bag" up what was left of the soldiers and hose the boat out, the next day everything was gone, nobody knew where or when it was taken away, just that it was gone. That sickening sweet smell that death has is something you never forget.

when my baby was lying in an incubator in ICU with a needle in her head and a central line in her chest -death tapped on my shoulder.
when i looked at my deceased father all purple in his bed -death had just left the room. one day as i watched cancer such the life from my mother, my sister made me go to work -death waited for me to leave the house. i've never actually seen death but i know his reputation. he's an asshole.

Living in a small town, it was tough, beacuse I knew so many of the people or relatives of theirs. That little girl though broke my fucking heart...it was that night I knew I couldn't do it anymore... I guess it made me think more about my own mortality. I remember getting a chill up my spine during Tony Todd's speech in "Final Destination" as the guy I worked under once said something similar....

When I was about 11, I was at the Toronto Blue Jays game at the old Exhibition Stadium (before Skydome). Well you had to walk down like 14 floors of spiralling concrete ramp to get out of the place. I was at the top with my cousin when a guy pretty much jumped up on our shoulders and then onto the ledge of the ramp. He yelled "argos" and then jumped and went "splat" at the bottom. We all had to walk right by his body to get out of the place...very disturbing !
