The closest I ever came to witnessing a death was about three minutes after it happened. We came over a hill and a man on a tractor had just been "sideswiped" by a speeding Camaro.
He was lying on the ground and his head had just been covered with a towel. There was a pool of blood around his head. The ambulance had yet to arrive.
I'll never forget it.

I watched my brother, who is still the smartest and nerdiest guy I've ever known, lose his mind to cancer before he died. 9 days after he died my best friend of many years shot himself in the head and also died. i didn't see the body thought. 1994 was a great year for me.
as far as the 'faces of death' kinda death, yeah i've seen it on the road a few times. it always bothers me. its handled less 'clinically' other countries. when i was in brazil i was with some really sick fucks who went looking for accidents (they were lawyers, need i say more?).
once i was in a mall parking lot and some guy stomped on his accelerator in reverse and smashed a lady one of those cement cinderblock walls. she collapse and turned purple, and died of internal damage before an ambulance could arrive.
i've also been in a couple near death fight kinda situations. i don't start shit, it's just heavy karma i guess.
better than getting nuked i guess.
