Would you pay to have a simulated FBI visit?

You are confident that your 2257 records are accurate and properly organized, but you never really know until the FBI comes to pay a visit.

Would you be willing to pay for the peace of mind that should they come knocking you would pass?

Hindsight is 20/20. What if you were the one the approached? Would you have still thought "piece of cake?"

I know who made your records straight, but do you really know before put thru the test?

Only a real company would pay for something like this.

GFY is devoid of those kinds of companies. The people here make $1,000,000 a month and guess what they do with it? They spend ALL OF IT on hookers, beer, coke, friends, family and a 15 million dollar home. So no... No one here will have any money left over to pay for such an awesome concept.

I actually MIGHT pay for a simulated FBI inspection.

Couple things would probably stop me though:

Real FBI agents are unique in their methods. One agent will handle things far differently than another, and being predictable is not really in their best interest, given the profession.

The rules are still being defined, and though there are certain benchmarks set, this is and will be an evolving issue for many years, until the 6th District decision is affirmed nationwide or the 2257 laws are overhauled. . . again.

Cost. The cost of flying an "expert" to pull off this simulation would probably be better spent on getting an actual adult attorney into my studio to rifle through everything and troubleshoot other materials (contracts, releases, etc) all in one shot. Most of the time my legal advice comes via telephone or in their office, not actually at my place.

Finally, given that a simulation would be good, I would really only be interested if the "examiner" had a background in federal law enforcement. A retired or former FBI agent who left on good terms would be the only "hook" that would inspire me to consider it. And then only AFTER the previously mentioned attorney had gone over everything a few times.

Well, the visit would be made by someone that has been in charge of the 2257 for a couple very large companies in the adult industry.

After the visit the results would be reviewed by our attorney, with certification that based upon the information provided, that should the FBI stop by you would pass their inspection.

Of course, we would never suggest that you should bypass/ignore the recommendations of your own attorney.

Now would they guarantee that if you do get inspected and fail they will represent you for free, like your accountant? They do your tax returns and they are fucked up.They will show up with you to defend the return.

Only one Ken?

Used to have em raid one company every Thursday - usually between 2 and 4. They'd remove boxes of really pathetic innocuous magazines, be ordered to return them by the court at the beginning of the week - then on Thursday there would be another raid when they were removing them again *lol*

We never bothered opening the boxes up - just left them for the Thursday raids. Doubt there have ever been more travelled magazines - damn, the shit ya get for being in the adult biz

PS FBI visit? No biggie. Would be interesting and amusing to test out the credibility and basis of such any request for data - that should take 2 mins. (In reality the FBI have no cred re 2257 in jurisdictions outside the US and seriously doubt they are that stupid).

Good hook.

Could also cost you a fortune, as you can't possibly predict what will be done AFTER you have given guidance and offered solutions.

Better upsell might be a quarterly program. Then you have some control over quality issues on an ongoing basis, and can increase your own confidence that representation after a real inspection probably won't be needed.

Putting your word behind the idea, in terms of representation if a legal problem arises, would be a very persuasive sales tool.

Sounds like they just needed to "refresh" the magazine collection in the precinct restroom every week or so.

This service would not be economically feasible for those outside of the US. The odds of the FBI visiting you would be minimal.

These were different days JJ - it was a game and raids were part of the course in the industry

LE don't seem to do that now and appear to acknowledge there is a level of "public acceptability" which would have no hope in hell of effective prosecution in a jury trial. (If you saw the actual mags you'd roll over the floor laughing and a jury would prob do the same )

Despite that - had one cunning prosecutor who painted a picture of "ranges of obscenity" from "mild obscenity" to "extreme obscenity" and presented the idea that subject material was the "mildest form of obscenity" to a jury and argued that this was still obscene under the legal definition - smart move It would be very hard to claim anything other than "mild", but he failed to convince the court.

Since these days, it's amazing what juries have elected to say is not obscene - would hate to try and put up a justifiable defense for some of these cases.

Why pay for a fake when you can have the real thing? If you write bad things about Bush constantly, not only will the FBI come and visit, they'll throw in a free memo to the Secret Service counter-terrorism unit in Washington. Its like getting two for one.

Been there, done that.

isn't this something you could simply take to your lawyer to make sure you're all legit on? i'd assume most legit programs would have somebody looking out for their asses in a legal sense already.

A lawyer is only going to advise you on how to be compliant, its still up to the company to do and keep the records compliant. Get a company that goes through a lot of content and thats a huge job in and of its own.

I like the idea, would be interested. One issue though is that it would have to be both a lawyer and a police officer that has retired from the FBI, and then the lawyer MUST not be one of the main adult attornies that have had their thumbs up their asses for the past decade about all of this. Either spouting doom and gloom or profiteering of of fear, joining organizations such as the FSC, or selling protection scripts and the like.

if its legal to do,there was some question about that (third party custodian)and I think its supposed to be clarified in the new version 2257 that will be out soon. If its a go, there is big money to be made all those people that dont want their home addy on the front page of their site, solo girls and small mom pop's. You can sell the shit out of that.

You don't need to pay...

The SAIC of inspections told me at last year's XBIZ Hollywood show that they would be happy to "unofficially" review documents and compliance efforts for those that are serious about their operations and make recommendations as to any "problem" areas.

For some reason I don't think there are many that would take that chance. That would be like asking your local cops if they wouldn't mind bringing in their drug sniffing dog to make sure you had cleaned out all your stash.

Lol you even didnt know what i did and you concluded people should "read".There are billions of stupid ways to end in jail here. For example i remember when how they arrested 85 year old woman beacuse she tried to sell old pants of her dead husband in city.Fortunatly they released her after one day.

This is true.... Once you get rich you simply start buying hookers with all their teeth and limbs....
