Five threads on the front page have reply wars in which someone stated they will not do business with someone else or a whole group of people based on the view points of other replies in the thread.

I just have to laugh... I was that way in the past. At one time I hated Scott (SleazyDream) and AaronM... I got over it and realized how childish that level of business decision making can be.

Why shouldnt I allow gfy to have some influence in whom I will or will not do business with. Hell there is a whole wagon load of known scammers that you can only discover if you look for gfy threads and woe is you if you did not bother to do a search first.

Then there are those I do not agree with on a business mentality level. If I see someone that clearly supports the theft of others (adult and non adult). Then they justify themselves because it may or may not be legal in a given area, are people I am not to interested in doing business with. Hell why would I desire to do business with someone who does not value my material and publically supports theft?

Same can be said of companies that allow or look past certain actions of others or perform certain actions themselves.

I am far from stupid enough to just scoff and say its gfy afterall what do you expect.

Stupid remarks, stupid opinions, silly arguements should not get in the way of doing business, though it is yours to do as you wish with. I guess I just have a tolerance line. We can fight and argue till hell freezes over and that will not stop a business deal. However if there are some fundamental business issues we dissagree with than that changes things.

Patently rude or constant offensive behaviour certainly could. There is always room for disagreement-in fact I would suggest that differing viewpoints, handled properly, can INCREASE the value of any discussion and result in both parties actually gaining valuable insight. Insight they may have never discovered otherwise.

The men and women who I would be hesitant to do business with are those who constantly resort to such intellectual gems as, "No, YOU da nigga!" and so forth. If that is the best retort you're capable of, I sincerely doubt you can bring anything important to me or my work.

And of course, the obvious liars and thieves.

In all the "drama" or "fights" that I've ever been involved in/with on GFY, I've never once recommended that people not do business with the people I'm up against.

They've told people not to do biz with me.... but I don't do the same in return.

If you don't like me, that's fine. If I don't like you, accept it. But I refuse to go out of my way to try to undermine someone's business/work.

That being said, I also don't go out of my way to tell other people that they should or should not do business with other people based on any drama on this board. If you want to, great... if not, great.

I'm sure this isn't making as much sense as I'd like it to.... the point is, when it comes to business, I believe people are free to make their own choices, regardless of personal feelings.

I know this aint the same as loosing money but I learned a good lesson from GFY, When I first joined GFY I did some some link exchanges with one guy that used to post on here. I must have had around six text links on my site to his sites as well as a banner. After about a month I was doing a link exchange check and some of his sites were gone and one of them had been completly changed. He did not have any of my linkbacks on any of his sites and after reading some posts about him on here I kinda wish I had read the threads before doing any link exchanges with him. So I think in some cases it does help to read up on threads. But the ones where you get two people argueing I tend to ignore.

I think you couldn't point a better example than with Sleazy. He says he's the same online and IRL... but my perceptions were still different. The guy is an awesome public speaker and very cool to talk to/hang out. I never done business with him but my opinion still changed when I met him face to face.

This is one list I'm proud to be on. The kinds of posts this pussyserver kid has made in the past obviously prompted me to speak out and point out his idiocy or otherwise disagree with him. In the 10 years I've been in this business everyone with whom I've done any type of business with at all (and there are an army of them) will tell you my record is solid, my word is my bond. Period. Pussyservers?... well for one thing, who is he? Never even heard of him before a couple of years ago. Just look at some of his posts and that's all the indication anyone needs for credibility.

There are a few here I won't do business with simply because they aren't the types I want to have anything at all to do with much less business. That list is quite short though. Everyone else starts with a clean slate with me, your word is good until you break it.


And V_rocks, if someone is constantly saying things on message boards that clearly indicate they are a complete asshole with zero people skills, zero manners, zero regard for anyone, why should I ignore that and trust them in business when there are tons of others here who don't act like that and who do conduct themselves in a more mature manner?
