How many times can you record over a single MiniDV?
How many times can you safely record over a single miniDV tape. I know you should keep all your original tapes but this is for just mainly test stuff. Also, is there anyway to view or restore something you recorded over by mistake or is it gone forever?

You can always record over it again, with exactly the same data.
I've heard that it's best for the heads to only record once; but this may be more 'videophile' bullshit; I've never really conducted tests, but I've used DVs a few times when playing with a cam.

Oops I forgot to mention recording over them without losing quality. I am sure after so many times you might notice some difference. I am thinking up to 5 times, but would like to know for sure
