His story was on the new show also titled "American Gangster" on the History Channel as well. Amazing how he was able to cut a deal and move such a huge amount of drugs into the US.

not sure exactly how he got away with it (probably because everyone was scared that if they testified he would kill them). but he explained why he did it in his interview:

I actually did the whole "watch it at 12:01am" thing at Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood. To my delight, it was not jam-packed. I haven't attempted the midnight premiere in years, but this movie was WELL worth it. Goes to show how people get everywhere on charisma. Definite Academy Award nominations to follow.

I already knew most of the back story, but I had saw a history channel special called, 'Gangland", which covered a large part of it.
