So if I understand this right the dad told the son that if he was going to have a black girlfriend he and the girl would have to go because he wanted to be able to use the N word freely. So he chose the N word over his son.

I dunno, he wasn't saying the N word as talking down to anyone, except maybe one time. It's not like he was calling someone a POS using that word talking down to them acting as if they were lower than him.
The way he was using it, was in conversation, same as saying "fuckers or ashole". I don't see the issue other than the media is blowing it up, so all the tards end up over reacting.
