:mad Pacific Rack hosting are fucking liars

*Cliff Notes*
Pacific Quacks say that they own their own datacenter.
When informed that their traceroutes go through OC3networks, they tell us that they are the same ownership.
When the owner of OC3 gets here, he tells us that they are in fact resellers, but doesn't see what the big deal is.

FACT: Pacific Quacks are liars who do not own their own datacenter or manage their own network.

Funny how you used those exact words..."so our resellers can claim whatever they want to"

If Pacific Rack is trying to target the mainstream market [b]why would you be all over GFY? [b/] And when you say scoop up the "lower end adult business" I've seen nothing but competitive pricing from OC3 in the past so I'm not quite sure what you're referring to.

PacificRack uses the OC3 Network for its well known and highly touted quality, performance and stability.
They have multiple cages, with their own server hardware and their own switches and are in operation to target the consumer base which isn't covered by the OC3 Networks services.

Service and the prices charged for it are what matters. When I setup a new server somewhere, I don't even ask if they are resellers. Who fucking cares? It doesn't even matter.

Well... it really should matter, if you care about your business at all...

I'm thinking...

Like Whoa
Cologroup
Foundry Nap
And whatever that other sham hosting company Magg had

All "great companies" that promised great things. What happened to these guys?

There are several others...

I'm not saying anything about the company in question... I'm simply saying, you really should care what your hosting company does. Maybe today you don't see signs of it... but in six months if they skipped town, don't be crying.

Exactly.
For the record it doesn't matter if you own your own datacenter (most hosts don't)
What does matter is that you tell the truth to your customers (and potential future customers)

If you're lying about having your own datacenter, then you're probably lying about how many techs work for you....might even be lying about the network your routing traffic through (one of the oldest lies in hosting is routing inbound traffic through a premium provider and routing outbound traffic through cogent)

Your host has access to everything, your email lists, your databases, EVERYTHING, so a very important question when deciding where to host is "can you trust them?"
Pacific Quack has shown that they can't be trusted.

Snake Doctor, we operate our own datacenters in the multi-story BUILDING that milan owns. We DO have our own datacenters just as we claim and we lease SPACE, FLOOR SPACE from milan.

There have been plenty of people that have come by for tours AND I OPENLY INVITE PEOPLE HERE ON THIS FORUM TO COME BY SO WE CAN TOUR THEM.

You have no idea of what you are talking about you troll. You jumped into the middle of the last thread with your idiocy and now think you know ANYTHING?

You said that you OWNED YOUR OWN DATACENTER
A datacenter is a 7 figure investment.

How do you own your own datacenter while leasing space in a datacenter owned by someone else?

Unless you think that your cage at OC3 is a datacenter, in which case you're in way over your head with this hosting thing.

Not to mention the fact that earlier you claimed that Pacific Rack and OC3 had the same ownership, to try and hide the fact that you're a reseller.

We have BOTH *1* cage within OC3 space, as well as our OWN DATACENTER as in AN ENTIRE LOCKED ROOM with cabinets and cages OF OUR OWN.
OUR OWN HVAC, OUR OWN UPS, OUR OWN ROUTERS, OUR OWN SWITCHES, AND OUR OWN SERVERS.

THAT qualifies as a REAL datacenter.

Milan will be on here in just a bit to clarify the ownership aspect of it, which you are WRONG on as well. I don't know what made you want to JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS or attack us in your very own thread but you are about to be dumped on with FACTS.

Hey it's not my fault you dodged questions and gave conflicting answers all this time.

You think that if your benefactor comes in here and finally gets on the same page with you that everyone is going to believe you?

You're just an idiot, obviously doing this for drama. Is this how you fill the time in your life?
While you were wasting your entire night with this thread, I was relaxing having dinner and spending time with my wife.

So now, after you've been called out on your false accusations based on your need for drama, you use the excuse of:
"Oh well, not my problem, F U" to try and back out of it?

Don't be a wuss, you were so sure you wanted to start drama and now all of a sudden you run away like a duck.

The OWNERSHIP ASPECT OF IT is what your whole argument is based on, NOW IT DOESNT MATTER ANYMORE AFTER YOU'RE LITTLE DRAMA FEST HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN?

I don?t think I owe you or anyone any updates on my business ventures but here goes so this stupidity stops.

I own part of the Pacific Rack venture as well as Alex, so liar he is not.

So for the slow ones here:
I own the building
I own OC3 Networks
I partially own with PR (together with Alex), these venture was developed to target a different markets as already mentioned.

Meaning PR does own their own DC (suite 605) and at the moment utilize OC3 Network's network infrastructure, other than that they are separate entities.

Oh by the way I partially own 4 more hosting companies, music label and construction company should I give you those names as well?

can I go back to my Sabbath dinner now?

I'm not trying to back out of anything.
You were dogdy and evasive when asked simple questions about your business. Questions that people have a right to ask if you're asking them to trust you with their hosting.

It's not my fault you keep changing your story.
BTW, typing in all caps and bold doesn't make your statements any more compelling.

The fact is in the other thread milan said that you were reselling his bandwidth. If he changes the story now to cover for you then fine, whatever, but it doesn't excuse the fact that your story changed.

Now shut your cocksucker you little pissant.
Gee maybe if you keep typing in caps and bold fonts it will make people think you're tough and they'll leave you alone

Nice... resort to insults to save face. I'm not going to reciprocate because anyone who cares about reading this thread will see that you've been outed as a frivolous drama creator who twisted words, lied and made assumptions just to have some fun.

Ok so if I give you a % of a hosting company I start then I can claim to own the datacenter space that I lease from you?

You realize how ridiculous that sounds? I own it, but I'm leasing it from milan.

On another note, does suite 605 encompass 3 floors? Because according to this page http://www.pacificrack.com/network.html
"Pacific Rack occupies 3 floors in our Los Angeles datacenter"

3 floors is an awful lot for a host that just opened up this year don't you think?
I mean hell, OC3 has been around a looong time and is one of the biggest hosts in adult, how many floors do they have?

As has been said, we have multiple cages apart from our own datacenter spaces. Yes, we have servers located on 3 floors in the building, yes that statement is true.
No where does it say we use all the space on each floor so don't twist words around to make it sound like that just to cause more "fake problems".

So what are you trying to do now? Just waste time and argue semantics? What is the point in continuing? You are not exposing anything, no one has exposed anything since the beginning of all this drama.

Bwahahahahaha.
Yeah I'm the one hurling insults.

I'm just calling you out on your lies and ever changing story, in the meantime you've called me an idiot, a drama queen, a wuss, and a duck. (and that was just in 1 post)

Awww poor baby, all you wanted to do was tell lies on GFY to try and sell servers and the big bad Snake Doctor won't let you get away with it.

Boo fucking Hoo.

Now you just being stupid... oh and OC3 is huge in adult but is bigger in the mainstream. we host some of the bigger movie studios around (damm NDA's errrgg), have over 1200 T1 and 350 DS3 customer nationwide, adult is about 25-30% of our business... just some fact checking.

but you know what in the 3 years on GFY my first real drama... got to thank you for that ;-)

Ok on this page
http://www.pacificrack.com/colocation.html
It says you occupy 3 floors and tens of thousands of square feet of datacenter space.

So saying that you occupy the space doesn't mean that you occupy all the space?

Just own up dude, you tried to pass off OC3's network and datacenter as your own so you would look bigger to potential customers, instead of just admitting that you were a small spoke in a much larger wheel.
Through your website and posts you've made on this board you insinuated, implied, and tried to create the impression, that the entire OC3 infrastructure was Pacific Rack's while never making any mention of OC3.

You over-exagerrated at best, flat out lied at worst, and are still unwilling to admit it. You may think by calling me a drama queen that this will all go away, or that nobody will take any of this seriously, but you're just digging yourself deeper and deeper into a hole by refusing to admit the truth.

What's funny about this post is that you agree with what I say, but use a tone that implies that you're correcting me.

I said you're one of the biggest hosts in adult, what was untrue about that? What needed to be fact-checked about that?

You still didn't answer my question about how Pacific Rack could require 3 floors of space when they just opened this year. That's some seriously quick growth.
Also you failed to answer the question of how they can own something if they're leasing it.

you be surprised and trust me when I said I was surprised on the growth speed Alex is bringing to the table, PR was in the making for the past year or so and was focusing on collocation only, looking at the registrar is wrong as we had to pay $8K for the domain.

Now how can you own and lease, not sure if you are aware but NONE of the other ISP's here as far as I know own the building they are in, most if not all are on a long term lease.

PR has a 10 year lease agreement with my management and holding company, and I personally spent $650K for the PR DC built out, my biggest mistake i guess is not doing the ARIN application earlier this year when Alex wanted it, i saw no reason at that time since we already have 6 different ASN's...

better?

Well shit dude that's all you had to say. OC3 has a good rep around here, I don't see why you didn't come out from the beginning and say you were part of it.

You did say earlier in the other thread that he was reselling your bandwidth and you didn't claim to own any part of it.....hence all the confusion.

With so many hosts having fucked people over in this biz over the years, they're all guilty until proven innocent around here.

Well I know where you are coming with this BUT I don't have to say it, it's my business...

I DON'T run or operate OC3 Networks anymore Kobi Drach is the CEO (kobi_d here)
Alex run the PR company...

my position in those 2 companies now is making sure the high standard I provided is being represented properly.

Also I didn't say he reseller my bandwidth I said resell OC3... I need those separated in people mind because THEY ARE separate... I hope this help making this even more clear.

I know Alex is bringing a lot of experience and knowledge here, let him run his company with out trying to cast a shade.

I'm not taking sides but I think all hosts should be straight up when answering these questions when contacted personally by a potential customer. I know making a sales pitch on the website is necessary to get customers and beat your competition but when someone starts asking specific questions about the data center, the network, ownership, etc.. I think the host should answer as truthfully as possible.

Most regular webmasters don't really know how to tell the quality of a web host by checking who they peer with, ASN's, traceroutes, and figuring out the location of the data center and if the datacenter is a neutral data center or privately owned one. Also, if the host is just reselling servers, bandwidth, or rack space, etc...

If what Snake is saying is 100% true about the first conversation, it does sound like PR thought they might be dealing with another dumb webmaster that couldn't tell the difference between hosts and couldn't do their own research, and made some minor false or at least misleading facts. I don't know why they couldn't have just said they are located in OC3networks privately owned datacenter, but own their own equipment in it.

Just like other companies are located in theplanet.com's data centers, or the NYIIX. If I ask do you own your datacenter, the answer should be no, we are located in the NYIIX but own our own equipment or leased space, etc.... Or we don't own the datacenter but we are located in theplanet's data center but own all our equipment, have our own techs, etc..... As long as the data center is known as being top-notch any webmaster shouldn't have a problem hosting with a company that just leases space in the data center.

Maybe I missed some of the facts, but if PR is not owned by OC3networks then they shouldn't say they own the datacenter.

All "great companies" that promised great things. What happened to these guys?

There are several others...

I'm not saying anything about the company in question... I'm simply saying, you really should care what your hosting company does. Maybe today you don't see signs of it... but in six months if they skipped town, don't be crying.
I didn't say that I don't care what a host is doing, I said I don't care if they are resellers or not, and for that matter, I don't care if they lie about being resellers, either. My choice to do business with a host or not is based on their fucking performance, not how they run their business.

Good hosts separate themselves from the bad quite quickly. Those that are shit usually don't last beyond the first year, so how long a company has been around is a big deal for me. When a good host starts to go bad, there are plenty of signs and you can either be an idiot about it and stay on for the long downward spiral like the last few clients of iBill, or you can move elsewhere on your own terms. Hosts that have servers up for me are always watched by me, when I see too much bullshit from them, I leave.

A good host simply wont skip town. If my host skips town, I wont be crying. I will call Visa and dispute charges as needed and a few hours later I'll be up and running somewhere else. Many people do not keep full backups. I do. I can restore everything within a matter of hours. Sure, it will be a hassle, but so are alot of other things.

There are two hosting companies right now where I have servers: OC3 and Wholesale Internet. Both have multiple facilities and I trust them implicitly. But I keep watch on them and I ready any threads about them. If I saw the signs of doom, I'd leave and I would not wait for my servers to be unreachable before doing so. But honestly, its nothing that I need to worry about.

So yeah, most of this thread, and the allegations made by Snake Doctor are bullshit.

All the PR hate! I love PR. One of the best hosts I have ever used. If you need them they are there for you and if something does go wrong with the server it is fixed ASAP. Never had to wait more than a minute or two for an answer to a ticket.
