| I just started putting my comforter that was normally on the bed, on the floor so he could sleep on that and still have the same smells or whatever. He was a 65 pound pit, so he took up way too much room and I would wake up smashed against the wall every morning with him all nice comfortable right up against me. It worked pretty good actually, but he would still wait until I was asleep to sneak up on the bed. Pretty sneaky for a big ass dog.

LMAO cock tour. well that's the problem - its going to be an old habit to break which will probably take a long time and with a lot of effort. Just be persistent by taking ur dog to its new bed. Every time it jumps on your bed, take it to its own bed. Don't give in because that'll confuse the dog.

Get a doggy kennel big enough that your dog can stand up and turn in it. Teach your doggy to go in it at various times during the day then reward her when she does. Do not force her or make her afraid of it though! Put her doggy bed in it and leave the kennel door open. Eventually she will go in and out by herself. Once she is used to it, place it in your bedroom and when it is bedtime, have her go in it and close the door. That is what we do with our Puggle and he knows now when it is bedtime that he needs to "kennel up".

Your GF has to like the dog. Period. I let my dogs sleep in the bed and wouldn't have it any other way. They are my family. While GFs and BFs come and go, your dog is forever. BUT if you must keep the little guy off the bed, you must own the bed. Standing in front of the bed when he/she tries to get up will show ownership of the bed. You can do it with anything - a toy, food, whatev. That's how dogs own things. They simply guard the object of desire. Eventually, the dog will get it but you must be patient. You must be pack leader. If you need more info, check out the Dog Wisperer. Seriously. He rocks. Good luck!

thanks everyone for the advice.... i am going to try shifting my dog onto my other side or on 1 of the pillows for now. I think its going to be to hard after 7 yrs to get her out of the bed. i have a king bed so there is definitely room for all of us... lol i will just make sure my dog is on my other side and i dont want to have to kick her out of the bed.... PointerAdv_Lindsay makes a good point : )

Buy it its own bed. A shot of canned air should work to show it where its not wanted.

Buy a bigger bed ;) Mine can't get on my bed because it's very high w/o using the ottoman (and 2 are too old to use it). But if I don't put them up there, they cry all night. Your dog will always love you - your girlfriend, probably not. Be nice to the dog ;)

put down a blanket that was on your bed down on her doggie bed. Our lab likes to sleep at the end of our bed on his bed. Especially if their is a small blanket or shirt down there.

LOL. Actually, I'm not. I just love my doggies. I don't particularly like children. Dogs are way easier to deal with. They aren't going to need college tuition. They aren't going to wreck my car when they get their driver's license. They will never need braces. It's pretty much a win-win. :P

 | Buy a small to medium size pillow, and a few pillow cases for it. Put the cases inside yours. ALL of them. And sleep with the pillow its self for about a week. then take one case at a time put it on the pillow and on her bed. She will get used to that.
