computer industry has been doing huge steps for near two decades. Windows 3.1 and 95 where the latest versions of Windows 2.something. That period of time they were plenty graphical O.S. available. The difference is that Windows is the one that got established through time. Microsoft didn't innovate in reality.

They make a superior desktop OS. If you don't like it, don't use it. Go with Red Hat or something else. If you're going to use MS products, PAY for them.

$350? I got XP Pro Upgrade for $90 at my school store.

They had the full version for $250.

generally, part of the EUA is that you can't "sell" anything you create ... at least that's true for Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash, etc...

Microsoft has caused as many headaches as it cures with it's software solutions. For example the HUGE bug in Excel where a large file can spontaneously be corrupted and CANNOT be fixed. There is no known cause for it according to MS and it caused a few of my old clients to lose a few days of work, and some $$.

Trials are only good if they're time-bombed. A trial that is crippled is useless. I would never test a car if the sales rep told me "Ok, this demo turns right and you don't get brakes. But if you buy it, we'll let you do those functions". People buy from brands they trust. Microsoft doesn't have the people's trust.

Btw, I will be the Bill Gates of Adult. Let it be known. I'm going after the leader. I'm staging a Coup D'Etat!

Actually people do still buy CDs and I am one of them. I saw this report on TV about the music industry cracking down on all the free music and all that, and then they pointed out the HMV's sales (at least here in Montreal) were still climbing steadily even though people were using MP3 a lot more.
